No, because we'll have much better hands to do it with and quickly since it's a spot that comes up very often, so there's no reason to take the worst possible of the standard lines to sacrifice EV for information.

Edit: Unless you want to setup a fishy image on purpose to capitalize on it later in the game vs an observing opponent who's going to adjust correctly (but incorrectly vs your future range in this spot since you'll be adjusting yourself after that first fishy c/c)
Generally though, if you're going to sacrifice EV to setup an image, I'd do it in spots where it's going to pay off big time and not in a spot like this one where he might incorrectly pay you off once or twice in small pots and then readjust.

c/r is also an option, better than c/c and makes you tougher to play against. Vs a good player though, we might get called light (reason being that we're obviously a lot more polarized) and have to barrel again on the river, so we're pbly risking more money on average for the same result and I'm not sure with a higher chance of success at all.

Ok, this is probably some basic stuff again, yet a major leak in my game...

Isnt the standard for A3o preflop to fold? In a vacuum I fold them, against a high F3B I 3bet them because of the blocker and only agaisnt a super passive guy post flop I flat them.

Major leak?

Don't think so...my std is to fold to 3x open. Against a weak 2x opener I flat.

Really don't like to 3bet because of the sick reverse implied odds, but if he's folding enough that you're showing a profit just from the 3bet you can't really go wrong 3betting ATC.

Folding a marginal hand PF is never going to be a major leak, tbh. For major leaks I'd start looking at the lines you take in 3bet pots vs specific opponent tendencies.

I'd like to discuss the Math and the Cost of Mistake issue in the next scenario:

Let's round up, that villain has to bluff 42% of the time for us to break-even on a river call.

Let's assume that we KNOW FOR FACT that he is bluffing exactly 45%, so our call brings us profit by margin of 3%. Is my calculation in $ correct: $38.544

$192.8 + $546 + $546 = $1284.8

1% = $12.848, so 3% = $38.544

2) IRL we are not Nostradamuses, but let's assume that villain's bluffing frequency is between 40% and 45%. Would the call be correct? If we are correct, we will make 0.5% profit = $6.424 in the long run (disregard rake). Does this worth it at all, given variance/bloated pot with overbet. Now let's get to reality, we can be wrong in our estimations IRL - how much this mistake could cost us in the long run? also to note, if he will show us BETTER hand over 50% of the time and having a good run, we will not have extra-advantage of our call for information, but i guess it balances by the factor, that villain will see that we are completely capable of making huge hero call.

So if it is a mistake to make a call under those circumstances, at what % margin it becomes somewhat a call.

Cheers!

Real quick, does anyone else think Phil Hellmuth and Bill O'Reilly are like the same person? lol They have similar freak-outs and mannerisms. Both are convinced that they're right about anything, but you can't help find them so damn amusing

Looks like one of those situations that doesn't come up too often, so I'd say it probably doesn't matter too much if you call or fold preflop.
