Nice post, I just started with PokerOffice5. This gave me some things to think about, thank you.

Then I'll make specific notes around 3bet frequency, bluffing tendencies, draw play, what donk bets indicate etc etc as per some of these other posts.
I often post key HH's directly into the notes screen.
Any thoughts on who uses PT for notes, who uses FTP note built in, smartbuddy TR buddy list, etc etc?
Where do you keep notes?

I take all my notes right in pokerstars. But I play Husng. So buyins and things like that aren't important. Plus I'm definitely not gonna be punching a screen name in to an offline database every game I play. CRAZY lol

Re: Heads Up Note Taking 101
nice post !
I like the few additions too.
I use Holdem manager HUD and it helps too with things like "bet vs missed cbet" (villain agressive on turn vs missed cbet can be trapped) and more exact 3 betting, calling OOP, fold to cbet, wsd and other stats.
I found, with great surprise, that the perception that I had of a player was not always reflected by the numbers and I was often under a false impression...Has it happenned to others than me?
Also Holdem manager alows you to take notes when u review the game afterwards in your replayer and then have them appearing directly in the HUD next time! This is GOLD.
I think on a previous post re.note taking someone mention a handy little trick: "??" after an annotation when u suspect something. "?" when u are pretty sure and nothing when u are sure. I found it quite useful. for instance :" play draw passively ?? " the first time :" play draw passively ?" the second time and :" play draw passively " when it is confirmed

Re: Heads Up Note Taking 101
great post. I Would find number 7 and 9 the most difficult to do while playing.
I also try and take notes on the following:
C betting tendencies
How many tables they are playing
Whether or not they undertsand board textures

Yeah that's actually a pretty smart idea.
I also don't know if I mentioned that whenever I cite a specific action I always put in parenthesis afterwards what blind level was at.
eg.
called 20 BB allin with T9o (15/30)

Re: Heads Up Note Taking 101
that's from one of my videos
but it's more like:
?? = assumption, i haven't seen villain do it but i'm pretty sure it's what he is doing.
? = seen villain take X line, but not 100% sure what he is thinking or if it's representative of his standard play
no question mark = solid read

I saw a video somewhere (not you) where the range was from ?? to !!, where adding exclamation points confirmed the solidity of a read.

Re: Heads Up Note Taking 101
As I stated earlier in this thread, rereading OP was quite refreshing.

Re: Heads Up Note Taking 101
Very nice post.
I have a problem because my notes often get very long. This may come from me playing a lot of donks, but I take notes of the flops that they lead or c/r until I see a hand of them and then I write down almost every hand where they do dumb things. I don't know if this is that bad, but when I meet them again I need like the first 10 hands to read all notes I've taken of them. Good thing is that I can often remember the hands and some parts of the game.
