Check out the free download HU eBook by Mersenneary at the top of the page. At the bottom are 4 intro to HU videos, by Pbogz, I think. I've not had a chance to watch those completely yet - I'm still on the DogIsHeadsUp series. There's also two series called Pr1nnyraiding and Pr1nnyraiding3 (similar to those 2 names) that are pretty good. And any free videos on math, hand reading, etc. There's a ton of free stuff online to read/watch, it's just not that easy to find without a looooong search. Oftentimes, I'll forget my original question while I'm still doing a search for a particular video or article. Looking back, the best thing that I can think of to have done is just quickly skim through any free video that seems remotely related to what you want to learn and then have a text file (HUindex.*) where you note the name of every one that seems promising along with a brief description of the title, author, and content. Then you can return and see it whenever. Maybe watch your favorites through once and then, if something clicks a little, watch it again and again later and take notes on it. I don't know, there's a lot out there to wade through, but some of it is really good.

As a very general guideline, what is our normal value stacking off range preflop? As KK+ in full ring and QQ+/AK in 6-max, what is it in HU?

Thank you.

Im an sng player but i play full ring sngs. I could play up to 16 table at the very max. I know there are players that can do 24 or 30 plus easily for the same sngs i play and still be profitable as sngs are mostly about playing a lot of tables and putting in volume.

I don't plan to play heads up cash but i'm curious how many tables is optimal? Heads up is thus more about reads and less about the cards. Is 4 tabling the absolute max one should play when its heads up? I can't even imagine any more tables than that b/c of you are playing that many, you are going to have a tough time with reads. But still 4 tabling seems a bit too much. I think the optimal for heads up sng is probably 1 or 2 tables and maybe 3?

Would you say the answer would be different if its head up sng instead? Also, would it ever be profitable playing more than 4 tables heads up if you are playing low stakes? I imagine the heads up sng if playing lower stakes wouldn't be that big of a difference but i think doing that is probably a bad idea?

Are there any mid stake head up regulars that play more than 4 tables? What would be the range of tables most of these guys play? I can imagine for high stake heads up players, they almost never play more than 2 at a time. But what about for the lower stake guys? Are there ppl here who play 6 table of hu sngs for the 100nl and still do good?

Can anyone recommend a good book for transitioning to HU? Something current?

I'm a former 6max player. I'm mainly confused about frequencies and how they change from 6m to HU.

I've also read that a lot of heads up guys don't use a HUD, which sort of implies that frequencies aren't as important in HU, whereas it seems pretty crucial to me and I'm totally lost without having an idea of what to be raising, 3betting, 4betting, c/r flops, turns, rivers, WTSD, WWSF, etc.

I'm new to HU but I have been beating 50nl so far, what kind of bankroll management is recommended for someone who was beating 6max for a above average win rate. I also have a coach and I don't play for a living.

6max I was a big BR nit, minimum +50BI bankroll, is this necessary HU? Or does it need to be higher? 100BI+. Thoughts?

Needs to be higher for sure.

100+ is probably a good start.

the best site for headsup is ******poker.com. You find a lot of fish even at nl2000. and plenty of bad regs all the way up to nl5000. I play around 50000 hands heads up with a winrate around 14bb/100 per month, usually 6 tabling. 4 tables against a sucky reg and 2 tables vs whales. only on ******poker.com do you get that much action and almost 70% rakeback on top.

Hi 2p2,

Where can I player lower than NL50 heads up online? The lowest limit on
Stars is NL50 and I don't really have the roll for that.

approximate rake at 100nl on stars?
****General Questions THREAD**** Quote

Ok, I'm doing the hu cash thing for SHO this time

Rake on Bovada for all stakes:

$0.05 for each $1.00 in Pot, $0.50 max

I plan to start at 5NL and deposit $250. 50BI's should be cool right?

I assume playing on Stars only there isnt enough fishy action to get in the stakes of 200 and up. So which sites do you add?
