$5/10 live line check

We play a lot together. We both started with $2k and I'm down a bit this session. Villain is too conservative heads up, especially post flop. I'm perceived as a LAG by a villain accustomed to playing full ring.

This hand seems standard to me, but maybe I'm wrong! Let me know.

Hero: 1300
Villain: 2700

Hero has KQcc in the SB

Pre-flop
Hero raises $25, BB 3b to $75, Hero 4b to $175, BB calls

Flop: Qh2s7s
BB checks, hero bets $205, BB calls

Turn: 8s
BB checks, hero checks

River: 9d
BB checks, Hero goes all-in for ~$820

Are you in SB or button? How do you act after Bb checks flop if in SB. If BU I think 4b isn't that great rather play IP vs a wider range I can dominate by calling.

I prefer jam turn. If deeper bet turn and check back river.

It's heads-up so SB = Button.

My main thought was river should be a check back. Neither of us has been 4 betting in this session much so my range is pretty capped. At the same time, it seems a bit nitty?

Re: $5/10 live line check

turning KQs, hands with fantastic playability, into a bluff seems kinda questionable, but nobody ever folds live and everybody 3bets merged, so it might actually be a reasonable valueraise. Postflop is super standard. I'm guessing since you're posting this you run into AQ, but that's kind of a cooler.

e: you might also consider betting river smaller

Ok - I didn't think it was true HUNL just that it was not multi way pot.

As played pre and now that I looked closer at stacks and bet sizing - pot on turn is 760 and you have 920 behind - I think 2/3 psb on turn and bet / call off all rivers except A and spade (vs. most opponents). But if your view of villain is he never gets out of line (i.e. Would never call with KJ, KTs, TJs, mid PP etc. - only calls with TT-JJ and AQ+) pot control is ok (check back flop bet turn and check river probs).

Again prefer to call 3b pre unless a complete maniac.

Re: $5/10 live line check

Not sure if I like your 4b. QKs is a nice hand to see a flop with. And its kind of awkward cause your over 50 bbs. 4b is fine but Id rather see a flop I think. It kind of sucks when we 4b and he shoves your going to be dominated by AK AA KK QQ and any other pair lower your flipping. When we 4b QKs snd your not deep he less likely to call with worse. So a hand like KJ we want to see a flop against him with he probably will fold to a 4b. So I think calling 3b is better that way we keep his worse Kx and Qx range going to the flop and even any random trash hands.

As played on the flop we want to bet an amount that sets up a 3/4 turn shove since your not 100 bbs. I would be like 275/375 pot i think the pot would be over 900 and you would have a 850 shove on the turn. I am trying to figure out how I would play this I am not used to doing this under 100 bbs so I think I would do something like that. Checking back is just giving free cards against hands your already beating on the turn. Our hand still some what vulnerable so I don't think I am checking here. I would just jam the turn. Your flop bet is good for 100 bbs but our stack is on the short side so setting up a turn shove under pot is optimal imo. Either way I think your mistake is not getting it in on the turn.

I like it if he thinks you are super laggy but if he really is tight postflop maybe bet size river smaller
