We've played a grand total of ~10 hands and he seems to be a reg;

1/2 NL, 100BB effective.

SB raises to $6, Hero raises to $18 with ATo, SB calls.

Flop ($36) - 9QJ rainbow.

Hero bets $19, SB raises to $47, Hero..

I'm interested to what percentage people jam/call here, does anyone check this flop often..?

Id probably fold since we only have 10 hands on the guy.

I bet most of the time but occasionally check it. If villain calls with a lot of jx and 8x type hands but will fold them on the turn betting becomes better. If they get sticky so you have to fire the third barrel I like check calling more - against some players check calling flop and check raising turn is more +EV since they just barrel off like a monkey with anything. Against an unknown I tend to bet unless they are from Russia then I check call because I just imagine Russians raising me while throwing a tiger at a virgin.

Coming from a retired guy (keep that in mind) I think anything other than calling has to be bad

In future, put the stake etc in your thread title, it'll stop you getting trolled.

As for the hand, ATo plays fine as a flat or a 3bet(somewhat of a mixed strat), so I guess 3betting is ok, although Id perhaps flat this early until we know slightly more about villain and his tendencies.

Flop probably plays better as a check, but now that we've bet vrs this sizing probably doing anything other than folding is ok.

I thinking folding here would be bad.

BreakyaNeck,

I agree to some extent, I'm not sure if our fold equity here is very valuable vs most regs range.

Purretrog,

What ever happened to creative licence, the thread titles are boring enough as it is on this forum.

I agree with your analysis, a 3-bet with this hand vs relatively unknown players creates marginal situations (like these).

Do you think c/c this flop is optimal?

Once you've bet, do you lean towards the call or shove on this turn?

+2 Pretty sure we should have a gto reraise bluff range here and this is the nuts for it. I would be much more inclined to flat on a 2 flush board.

Anyone want to put him on a range? Is he raise folding much of anything? Seems like a board that should hit both of your ranges fairly well.

I like c/c flop crai turn as was said earlier, lots of barreling will happen here as opponent tries to get us off marginal mid/bottom pair showdown hands.
