200NL HU, 3betpot, thin value on river?
hey guys!
im 3betting here this huge fish with KJo because he is never folding to 3bets (thats also the reason i make it 4x). postflop he is also not folding a lot in 3betpots.
flop is not the best for c-betting, but i c-bet because i have two overs and a backdoor straightdraw. turn gives me a gutshot. again not the best card, because villain might have a lot of pair + draws now. i make my straight on the river. should i valuebet in this spot? i think villain would call with 2pairs. i dont know how many flushes he has in his range. c/c is no option in my opinion cause all draws got there and he wouldnt bluff onepairs...

Flop bet is a bit too loose imo. Turn is kinda close, think betting is still a little loose. Jam river.

Well, he can have some flushes, but obv jamming river is not "thin value".

i am with you when you say this is a clear valuebet (not thin). but what should i do on the flop, if he is never folding preflop? really c/f?

jam river and i dont think its close.
if he never folds to 3bet pre and floats most flops then yes c/f isnt the worst. dont like c/c cause if you dont know fish's ranges in these spots then marginal turns get super difficult to play. you dont note his aggressiveness in these 3bet pots-- that should influence your decision.

against fishies i personally think bet less for speculation and lean more towards value especially against those that dont fold and cant interpret your ranges.

Re: 200NL HU, 3betpot, thin value on river?
i dont think this is thin value. i also think you have no other options then to jam. not much beats you and many things will call you. your decision to bet the flop or not is dependent upon whether or not he is the kind that will attack weakness. if he always bets when you ch the flop in 3b pots then yea i might throw out a bet here but probably smaller to kinda blocker bet him from pushing us off a hand with decent equity. also if he habitually bets when checked to i dont see that much wrong with c/c if you feel you are ahead of his range. u said he basically never folds to cbets so betting is bad most of the time unless he has a high fold to turn % and you plan on barreling many cards. turn bet is obv a bluff and hes never folding anything he called the flop with at this point so ur sizing needs to be bigger imo if youre looking for a fold, but i prefer to just c/f at this point. again, river is simple jam, if he has flush or qj then so be it. ship the pot ur way

Why in the world are you cbetting flop and follow up on turn vs this guy??
If you're opening up your 3betting range vs a guy who never folds, that's fine, as long as you don't try to barrel him off medium pairs that you know he likes to hold on with.
Now that you got to this lucky river, it's an easy jam!

Re: 200NL HU, 3betpot, thin value on river?
i followed up on this turn because i thought i have too, because i spiked a gutshot now. i was totally wrong. i should go more 4value against these guys instead of bluffing them. you are right, nothing that calls the flop is folding on this turn. thank you guys
