I'm a 6 max player just trying to get a handle on headsup so I can start games, which seems to be becoming mandatory these days. I'm interested to hear what the HU forum thinks about spots like this and how the naturally wider ranges changes our play and villain's play.
Villain is a decent and slightly laggy regular in ring games, and headsup he's opening the SB 85% over a small sample. I don't have any real HU history with him because I normally avoid it, but if there are any stats you think are key just ask and I can provide them.
My question is about the river mostly, but if I should be playing earlier streets differently I'm open to hearing that.
What kind of range/strategy does this slight river overbet mean? I legitimately considered all three options here. If villain is weighted towards value, as overbets usually mean in ring games then it's a fold. If he's barreling a wider range than I am used to because he starts with more air, then it could be a call. If he is merging his Kx or something to fold out my chop hands then maybe I should jam. Help please.
