I didnīt play this hand myself but itīs pretty intresting hand so I wanted to hear others opinion. Heroīs line is imo pretty stupid but letīs not focus on that.

This was first hands, so there is no extra information available. I think that the history would be the key here but what now when there ainīt any.

Villain ($160.35)
Hero ($89.50) Ad 5d

***PRE-FLOP***
Villain raises to $3
Hero raises to $9.50
Villain calls $6.50

*** FLOP *** [9h As Th] ($19)
Hero bets $10
Villain raises to $24
Hero ?

My thoughts:
I first thought that it would be a push or fold, depending on history. I based that on the heroīs pretty small stack and drawy board. If hero pushes villain propably would muck all the weaker realīs. And that obviously ainīt what we would want to happen. On the other hand I think there is a small possibility that villain could fold even a bit stronger ace. BUT draws would call almost every time and we are 65-70% favorites. Also there is a very small possibility that heroīs line would look so much as a draw that villain could call even with a T, 9 or JJ/QQ/KK.

But then I asked about this hand from the one player I know. I was a bit surprised when he said that he would call and C/push or C/call turn. Originally I thought that call would be a stupidest thing to do. But not anymore.

I really donīt know what would be a smartest line here.

ps. Sorry about my bad english. Should wrote more in english.

don't 3bet hands like this at this level without better reads -

as played, shove the flop. I'd be much happier if the Ah was out there instead (as it reduces the times he has Ah8h etc) but people almost never raise Ax when the A hits in rr pots, so i would shove and get called by QJ, hearts, etc

he obvisouly has to put you on a big hand so with him raising flop i always say fold
he either has a monster hand or draw such as 999 101010 a10 or a9 or jqhh 78hh or he has total air but the way its been played you cant tell with no read on him.

calling will be dangerous because your out of position and you got to expect him to fire at least another bullet on the turn and with no read on the guy it is hard to carry on, i dont like pushing the flop if he calls most of the time your behind, best case scenario he calls you with jq. so overall just fold and dont 3 bet pf with these hands agaisnt an opponent you have no read on and out of position.

Like I say I didnīt play this hand myself. I hate heroīs line here and I definitely would not play this way ever against unknown opponent. So I agree what you all said about pf 3bet. I donīt like flop donk either but that ainīt the point here.

I kinda did thought that there would be different opinions and my guess was right. So what is the right line when everyone says different?

Somehow I like Pasterbatorīs line most. I would shove this propably almost everytime but Iīm not sure anymore that would call be a terrible line either.

ps. Thatīs great if my post cheered you up NhK.
