According to my sources, iMega was more a hindrance than a help in resolving this situation.
And also according to my sources the main reason the state of Minnesota choose to settle this matter rather than litigate was the public outcry. When iMega filed suit while discussions were under way (without being a part of those discussions), it almost changed the mind of those Minnesota officials about settling.
My main point was to let the folks who called and wrote to these Minnesota officials know that their voices were heard and their effort made a big difference. They deserve our recognition and our thanks.

I trust Skall. I thought that the iMEGA Minnesota lawsuit was premature because no site had been blocked and the telecoms had not even had a chance to respond. I can understand that it would have encouraged, not discouraged, a hard line stance by the MN officials. Government officials hate getting challenged in court.
I twittered and emailed Gov. Pawlenty with my critique of MN's actions. I am glad that all of us who spoke up had such an affect.
