I started a new group on Skype for poker advocacy efforts. If you’d like to join, either reply here with your username or let me know privately and I’ll add you. With this, we can IM one another with articles to Digg, Facebook comments to like, online polls, new 2+2 threads, etc. They’ll come to you as short texts with links directly to the action at hand.

There is also potential for group calls and for this to be something of a focus group.

This isn't a PPA group. Rather, it's a broader poker advocacy group.

Please be advised that anyone in the group will be able to see your Skype ID. As most of you are searchable on Skype anyway, this probably isn’t a huge deal.

Thew92 helped greatly by figuring out how to turn off sound notifications for new group IMs (those can be problematic if the group gets busy). If you wish to turn those off, from the conversation itself go to the top menu item "Conversation", select "Notification Settings...," and choose "Do not notify me." You'll still see the new posts but you won't get endless audio alerts.

If you have an Iphone it is a breeze. I got up in running in 2 or 3 minutes.

I'm interested. Although I live a broad so not a great deal I can do in person.

We need more to sign up. contact TE to sign up. This group will keep informed and we are do little things that could add up to big things on a day to day - even minute to minute situations.

I created a Skype account yesterday but couldn't figure out to use Skype so I just uninstalled it and gave up.

If you reinstall it and PM me your username, I'll walk you through it.

I consider you one of the more intelligent posters on here. I think you can figure Skype out.

Can't you just use 2+2 forum to post articles, polls and start new 2+2 threads? I don't want to go to 2 different places for stuff like this that can be at one spot. Just sayin.

The benefit of the Skype group is that it's all instant. I post a link and everyone can click and go. It's also serves as a good focus group for me personally to allow me to take everyone's concerns to the PPA.

+1. I downloaded skype for my iphone and basically using it as a poker advocacy app. It is real easy and the action items take no more than 3 or 4 minutes each day.
