Don't mind me. I'm just being a cynical prick because the more I learn about my government the more sick to my stomach I become.

Re: Jack Abramoff's New Book"Capitol Punishment The Hard Truth About Washington"
I'm in contact with him and he has agreed to at least review the questions from Two Plus Two. He has a ton of interviews on his calender, so in uncertain when he will be able to respond. I will ask mod to verify it is him after he reviews the questions.
So far, these are the questions we have from TPT:
Does Jack have any specific knowledge about UIGEA or the recent online poker crackdown?
Nice thread would love to hear his opinions on current online poker matters going on behind the scenes in washington.
Who do we pay to get regulated ipoker ASAP?
I'd like insight on is how many likely players are behind all of this--this being UIGEA, bringing the prosecutions, and then this giant surge by industry for legalization.
Statements:
Sure, people can change and I can give him Bennie of doubt for it, but he still didn't serve enough time. He hurt a lot of people because of his arrogance and greed. Those two adjectives that describe him even overshadowed his talent for influence. That's extreme.
For the love of god, don't purchase his book. He's stolen enough of your money already.
Here are some of the questions I'm going to ask him:
Can the DOJ or FBI be bought or influenced by lobbyist?
You said in you interview that you would like more regulation in lobbying and you talked about how lobbyist give jobs to staffers. What about cases where lobbyist get jobs with government like in the case of Eric Holder? Should one be allowed to be a lobbyist and then take such a high ranking position?
I'm thinking of a few more regarding UIGEA. Please add more questions so I can pass them on.

I've been sick (to my stomach) a long, long time.
My father was a contemporary of some of my state's past politicians and could have probably held high office himself, but simply wanted to serve people in our town, our county. I'm so glad he did.
This thread, and what I saw of Jack A on 60 Minutes, has led me to want to read this book.

Not that it makes it OK, but do note that he gave a lot of what he made away to charity, and currently owes some of the people he ripped off tens of millions of dollars. I think the 60 Minutes interview stated he owed $24 mil to certain Indian gaming entities.

Re: Jack Abramoff's New Book"Capitol Punishment The Hard Truth About Washington"
New New York Times article on Jack Abramoff :
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/13/us...mid=tw-nytimes
Beginning of article:
There is no doubt that because of his infamy, Mr. Abramoff garnered a clinician’s understanding of the illnesses of K Street and, like any good doctor, he has written prescriptions. In his book, he lays out proposals for banning political contributions from anyone doing business with the government and for closing the revolving door between Congress and lobbying firms.
Poker Article on Abramoff showing the simlairities to Black Friday and Abromoff's dealing with Native American Casinos and Sun Cruz lines.

He's openly talking to people on there daily.

Is that pokerbloggs link to your blog ProSpace?
Why does it say 2p2ers are being used to promote Caesars/NFL? How do you fit in that the PPA was indirectly funded by Full Tilt and Stars, two companies the Caesars/NFL were opposed to?
I just don't see how that part adds up.

The PPA and Fair Play USA are using Two Plus Two users as if they were in Focus on Family. The comparison is the use of organizations and forums by pseudo grass roots movements. There are numerous threads asking Two Plus Two members to call congress and their representatives to regulate online poker. I'm not going to link to them because I'm sure you know they are all over the forum. Yes the UIGEA did screw Full Tilt Poker and Pokerstars and yes they backed PPA, but Leon Black who is owner of Apollo Management, gave large contributions to D'Amato years before FTP or Pokerstars. So if I could make the analogy to "The Micros" : The micros was financially backed and funded by Full Tilt, but after BF they did not get funded which then made them a free agent. Same could be said for PPA, although initially funded by the online rooms, they would need to accept money from other organisations for sake of self preservation. Secondly, Pokerstars could be tied to the same people who back Las Vegas. And they did align with Steve Wynn right before black friday. the moment FTP aligned with Stations Casinos is the week BF happened. That alignment would have paved the way for Stations to get out of debt with Leon Black and Apollo who holds hundreds of millions in their debt. So, back to Micros analogy, even though financed by FTP, they could easily work for Caesars next week and put 888 patches on their characters. However, bribery by Caesars and Wynn is much more clandestine and less obvious.
Leon Black (Caesars) in bed with D'Amato long before PPA.

Re: Jack Abramoff's New Book"Capitol Punishment The Hard Truth About Washington"
But the Leon Black funds came in 1992, surely D'Amato could get more than a measly $30k for the PPA to sell us all out, right?
You need to find a money trail or other ownership trail AFTER FTP and Stars exited the picture with the PPA. Otherwise it's a pretty big leap to assume the PPA separated from FTP/Stars and immediately became a casino shill group.
As of now your logic looks like "Leon Black gave 30k to a Senator in 1992, PPA is formed over a decade later, PPA is backed primarily by PS and FTP until Black Friday, Leon Black calls in his 30k favor that has matured 19 years and now controls the PPA."
The last part is a bit of a leap to my eyes currently.
Also, if PS is aligned with these people then why did black friday happen if Holder is being controlled by Black? Why not just go after FTP then?
I'm not saying I disagree with everything you say, but the things I point out above I don't see a logical connection based on what you're telling and showing us.

Nono, You misunderstood or I did not explain it right. Plus the thread is off original topic of Abramoff.
What I'm saying is Leon Black who owns Caesars Via his private equity group had a relationship with D'Amato long ago. I'm not saying that money was for this. I'm saying they had relationship long before FTP or PS gave any money to PPA. $25000 is huge donation and especially huge for that time period.
Do you have a list of new PPA contributors so I can review? Or link to where I can find all PPA contributions?

Caesars has never contributed to PPA, directly or indirectly.

To close the open question without opening up further discussion, let me just say that no U.S. B&M has contributed to PPA, either directly or indirectly.
