AFAIK they didn't. I'm currently playing on FTP and received no mail about closing my account. I was able to connect to my account although I made the last software update.

Only new players from France can't make first deposit for now.

This, French players who have made a deposit prior to June 25th, 2pm CET are fine on FTP for now but they have applied for a license so it won't last forever. Others can't make their first deposit anymore and some reports on French boards state that they can't play real money games either.

Hello XXXXX,

Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support.

Due to our ongoing application for a French gaming license, real-money transactions have been temporarily restricted for players over French territory who have not made a real-money deposit by 14:00 CET on June 25th ,2010.

These restrictions include deposits, withdrawals, player to player transfers and gift certificates; you may continue to use any funds that were in your account before 14:00 CET on June 25th, 2010, to play in real-money games.

Our game client and website will be updated as soon as more information is available.

We appreciate your understanding.

Yes when their license is granted by the French regulation authority.

We are now banned from almost every poker rooms. The poker decree has been published yesterday and real-money games are running starting today on licensed sites.

Pokerstars chose to put the burden of the tax solely on the player and they even added a bit of margin on top of that. Rake is atrocious at the moment.

Hi, I am from the UK and am currently visiting Paris as part of my plans to move here. I got a shock when i couldnt log on last night. Puts all my plans up in the air. I am distraught frankly.

I still have UK residence and bank account. Would I be able to access ipoker via vpn? I have an amazing deal there. What are the risks if I can? My money is paid through moneybookers to mu uk account.

Can someone please please advise?

Thanks

No legal risk as a French resident to play on non licensed sites. If you still have a UK address and utility bills available for that address in case of verification, I advise you to get a VPN with a dedicated static IP address located in UK.

Have most sites blocked french IP addresses or are they just not allowing French registered users to log on? My network still allows me to play, but I am a UK registered user logging on from France. If IP banning is happening I need to get a VPN set up before I get the hassle of getting my account blocked.

No problem with this set up financially. If your move to France is long term you may run into problems once you lose your UK residency, but probably easily got around if you keep your UK bank a/c etc.

Indeed some operators at the moment only block accounts based on residency and not IP. But this is a violation of the law so it may not last long.

Holy ****, I didn't know of this. I noticed the games at Everest suddenly dead this month and only now I figured out that the French flags are gone...
