Since we are SUPPOSEDLY getting our money back.. Since we are SUPPOSEDLY getting our money back..

What is everyones plan of action now? Obviously getting our money back is great, but the facts remain the same. We (US Players) aren't allowed to play anymore in the states. I'm a sng grinder and everyday that passes by is another dollar I will not be able to earn. Are the serious players still packing up to move out of the country? Should US players try another site? I am reluctant to play on any other site besides Pokerstars because of all the great incentives they provide.

Any advice is appreciated.

I have $91 in there.

I'm planning on keeping it in there. If I get it back eventually, good, but I'd rather keep playing than get my money back, considering how little my B-roll is.

However, if I was making a living from poker? I'd withdraw it all... and use the money to move overseas.

Look, I've lived overseas, and it was a hard adjustment and at the end of the day I decided to move back. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, however, and the reason I didn't stay was because I needed the support of friends and family, and I just wasn't emotionally ready to make that change.

I think one of the major problems, of course, was that I chose a country so far away (New Zealand) that I was so isolated from my friends and family. I think those moving to Canada and can come in for a visit friends and family more regularly will find a great amount of luck.

Part of the agreement to cash players out included a consent agreement that PS and FT will not offer real money play in to US customers. Id cash out, you cant play there for years at best.

Cash out. If you wish to keep playing you have 3 options.

A. Move out of the country
B. Play at a smaller site like Merge
C. Transition to live play.

SO risky to be playing on any online poker site in the US right now. DOJ could shut them down any day now.

Any theories on what the sites are going to do with FPP's/FT points? I have significantly more value tied up in points than I do in cash (don't think that's a brag but it might be) and I'm just hoping that I'll still be able to get full value or close to it at whatever time all US accounts are cashed out.

If nothing else, the experiences I've had with Pokerstars in the past make me optimistic that me and people in my situation won't get screwed.

I just made a successful purchase from the Iron Man store for the $100 backpack. The FTP store was open too. We'll have to see if it works out.

Bought the binoculars for 500 Ironman tokens. I wouldn't be able to stand to wear anything with FTP logo on it.

Is it still possible to transfer money between account at Stars and Tilt ??
If you use a VPN to register an account in Europe and pretend to live there then it is no problem if you are a losing player. BUT, if you are a winning player, and you want to cash out at some point, then they will ask for copy of ID and a utility bill or bank statement showing your address in Europe. What do you do then, forge a bank statement?
I wouldn't be very confident Using a VPN and a false ID. If they suspect anything then they freeze your account and you lose your roll; it would be very painful if it happened after you played for a while and built a substantial bankroll.

Not sure but I know on stars you couldn't do it. Maybe on bet they allow it. Full tilt I think you can buy tickets but can't play??? I don't know for sure.

Its been a week since i've played any game and its driving me insaneeeeeeee. I got about a 6k roll and like 65k in fpp, heard some players are moving out of the country to play once they get their money. Probably in a month or two. I wouldn't mind moving out of the country but obviously I wouldn't want to live there forever. I live in NJ, and I like NJ..although not too much with the crumby weather.

ASFIK with the tournement tickets, on stars you cant use them for sure. I just wonder what will happen if I move out to Canada and then try logging on from the site there to play. I heard you can play but cashing out might be an inconvience.

Pokerstars released a statement...the only way you can play if you move to Canada is you have to prove to them that you are a permanent resident of Canada...if you simply move to Canada and log on they will not let you play. You have to send them copies if your ID and copies of utility bills showing your name and address outside the US.

There is a way to become a permanent resident of a foreign country. It takes some research as each country is different but it can be done. If you need an income as many of us will I say go for it. There are many great places to relocate to outside the US.

And right now, as you research moving out of the country plans, take some time to enjoy the fact that you will not be sending the US government any more tax payments for your earnings. To me that feels really good right now.

Anyhow, go for it - research a foreign permanent relocation.

This story has gone unreported as far as I can tell, and it's one the public is largely unaware of. Most people think of young hotshots -- not family breadwinners -- when they think of online poker players. If you want your voices heard, this is one way you can make it happen.

This sounds awesome but I think you'll get more responses in a new thread. I'm just a younger pro with not responsibilities so can't really help ya out but I hope ya help us out. Your right, I haven't heard anything in the news really about individual players with families. All I heard was some smack talk on Lopez Tonight on "R.I.P. Internet Gambling" followed by laughter from the audience....F'n bastards.

I've done a little research on Canada and all you need is a address, copy of banking statement (which should be easy to get). No need to be a permanent resident, but I do think that if I went over there and stay for over 6 months, there may be an issue. Also, I know of some players already doing this so I am trying to keep track of how they fare off during the transition.

Okay guys, so I actually was able to move out of the US and reside in Montreal, Canada. Been here since May 16th. I have been able to get a lease at the apartment that I stay in and a Canadian bank account which was fairly easy. Pokerstars didn't take too long to verify me, 5 days, and I was able to play on the 21st. No problems as of yet, but have not cashed out yet.

When I moved from Canada to Thailand and changed my address, I jumped through all the usual hoops, had to send them copies mof my utility bill etc. but something else they did was they phoned me at my new number in Thailand. This way, they make sure that you are physically in the country and didn't just set up the account and go back to your home country.
