I know Christ is on McCain's short list, but I doubt he'll get the nod. In the even that he does and becomes the next VP the Lt Gov would take over. I don't know much about our Lt Gov, Jeff Kottkamp, but according to his bio he's received awards from various right-wing Christian groups like the Christian Coalition. It's unlikely he'll be on our side.
No matter who's our Governor next year, I doubt any pro-gambling legislation would get passed. With wingnuts like Rhonda Storms who sees gambling as a sin that must be stomped out it just won't happen. Our only chance would to get a ballot initiative, which I don't think applies to raising limits.
