Not really, I think there probably for online poker. Fantasy sports is still debatable as a skilled game. Online poker makes it, that gives them a good edge for longevity of their own.

I have no information or facts to back this up, but I have to imagine they view online poker as legally equivalent to fantasy sports. If one gets banned it's going to be difficult to argue that the other should be legal.

From a business and marketing perspective they probably view online poker as competition to some extent. So, I'm sure they wish they could get online poker banned and keep fantasy sports legal. You can't always have your cake and eat it too though.

Follow the money. Here is insight into who are the owners of the big fantasy sports companies:

For the most part it is the big sports associations and the sports media networks that own them. These are not the traditional "gambling industry" players. Their primary interest IS NOT the wagering revenues. That is secondary to the viewership they gain (and thereby advertising revenues) from capturing the interest of the multitude of fantasy sports players.

Online poker is not competition to this viewership. In fact, online poker feeds it.

daily fantasy wants to sell themselves as a predominantly skill game, but there's nothing in it for them to lobby for or against poker. they're already securely in a legal loophole and poker is out. I dream of the day where uigea is reinterpreted to ban DFS and all the sports leagues push to get uigea thrown out but that's far fetched even in daydreamland

To be a bit more blunt, DFS would and will throw poker under the legislative/regulatory bus in a Boston/Edinburgh minute if they saw ANY political advantage to doing so .....

How do you think Fantasy Sports got its carveout from the UIGEA in the first place ? By joining cause poker and singing "We Shall Overcome" ?

This is very true. I hadn't watched sports in years until I tried my hand at DFS, and even went so far as buying NFL sunday ticket in order to track my players. My friend who never watched an NFL game in his life also did the same.

DraftKings Cuts Its Ties With Poker

Quote:
The daily fantasy sports company DraftKings has ended its partnership with the World Series of Poker amid rising questions over whether fantasy sports, which are unregulated, should be considered gambling.

DraftKings has had a prominent advertising presence at World Series of Poker events and offered exclusive World Series of Poker-branded contests that awarded winners free entries to the final poker tournament.

But with regulators and law enforcement officials on several fronts scrutinizing the daily fantasy sports industry, DraftKings is moving to distance itself from poker, which is considered gambling and is heavily regulated in the United States.
