That settles which software will be used. Shuffle Master has a deal with bwin to buy out Ongame.

Thanks, this DOES fill in a crucial piece that was missing from the ballyhooed transaction announced with Chili gaming, which did NOT include online poker software.

My hat goes off to Chili for selling Bally what apparently was little more than a dressed up platform into which actual gaming software can be plugged with an API ... How on Earth was that valued by Bally at $20+ million ?

So, what the NGCB apparently was shown the other day was a playtech software product which will not be used by Bally, which Bally knew would not be used.

(I think an eventual merger of ShuffleMaster and Bally is not so far-fetched if this partnership goes forward.)

Not arguing, just curious ...

If Ongame has been out of the US market for X years, how would you know ?

Bally Technologies and Aristocrat Technologies have agreed to offer Ongame as one of their preferred poker solutions, thus creating a combined liquidity pool for our customers.”
Does the NV allow for this? Can someone explain why or why not this has to be a NV player pool only.

I remember reading that its ok to offer the online server this wherever it is legal, but that was a while back.

Just based on the companies history, I would guess he is correct. I doubt bwin invested much in the company.

There is a link to it in the Federal online poker & gaming legislation history sticky in the PPA Forum.

You can also find it, and the related regulations, on the Nevada Gaming Commission web site.

Will it be illegal to play on merge in Nevada once Nevada online poker starts? Or is it possible merge doesn't allow Nevada residents anymore?

The legal status of Merge for players in Nevada will not change from what it is now.

Kind of OT, but a few of you seem very knowledgeable. Looking at the business side- which companies do you see benefiting the most from Nevada, and eventually, intrastate online poker? Looking for long term stock plays.

^^^IMO,Software providers such IGT,Bally, etc would be the best buys IMO I would stay away from buying major B&M casino stocks or facebook/zynga for long term gains, though they are likely good short term buys if something kind of fed bill passes.
