Very minor point in the whole scheme of things, but I could have sworn there was chat. It made no sense to attempt to utilize it, however, unless you were in a showdown situation maybe, but it was there if I remember correctly just like in regular games.

Re: Whats going on with Nevada online gaming?
So I played some 100nl cash last night and you guys are right, there was no problem firing up theses tables.
There were somewhat around 5k players online. It was pretty nice.
This is way different from the experience before lock. So I guess a size like the current revolution or merge network should be ok.

Re: Whats going on with Nevada online gaming?
Right now @ 4PM EST on Thursday, revolution reports to have 3815 "Total Players" and there are 6: 9max 100nl tables running and 16 6max tables at the same level.
At 4:30 i have been on the wait list for all 9max tables and still have no seat. I am playing 6max (no problem getting up a few tables right away)

Odd, maybe not everything you see is as it appears.
(Back a few years, Absolute used to claim 2,000+ player tournaments, way of out line with their cash game numbers at the time. After the first break, about 1900 players would somehow disappear, leaving about 75 players, sitting at 9 tables, a number more in line with their other traffic.)
Seems odd that a site with 3,800+ players online has no way to start up a new 9max 100nl table.
Won't they let you or someone else sit down and start one ?

DQ, yes you can start new tables, but most full ring players play full ring b/c they don't like playing shorthanded. It can be difficult getting into full ring games on current USA sites. They need to develop some type of queue to get tables going, but can't expect that when their software sucks lol

... which is why God created prop players and enteprising entrepeneurs started prop companies like PokerFarm. .....
Sounds like they are leaving money on the table,
or, perhaps x% of the "full" games you view are for show only, to boost the claimed numbers ?
(FWIW, I don't have any business interest, nebulous or otherwise, in any prop program, prop site or prop company.)

Lol, the full games are not fake. It can just take a while to get through the waitlists.

Re: Whats going on with Nevada online gaming?
the lobby numbers are misleading, because some sites include play money players and others don't. Use this site for actual cash game seats filled:

Exclusive: South Point Poker “will be first real-money site in US” [egr - subscriber only]
“Unfortunately [because we are] the first one, the regulator is putting a few more restrictions on us, and wants us to start a little slower than we would like,” explained Gaughan. “We will conform to their wishes, but at the end of the year it will be in full blown site in Nevada. Then we’ll try and go into the other states where it is legal and do some contracts there.” (emphasis added)

Re: Whats going on with Nevada online gaming?
Sept. is way earlier than what we thought so far. I think that is good news. It will also put pressure on other states and sites to move quickly.
I have tested SoutPoints free money site and the software is horrid, but anyone that is the first in the market is gonna get a head start. Some compay with a bad software to start I think is actually good, for that will allow others to compete with a better software product and this will increase competition overall. Something we the players need
It is also good to hear that these sites want to work in other states and are hopefully understanding that pooling players is important for their bottom line.

Re: Whats going on with Nevada online gaming?
South Point earlier claimed that they are developing their own ipoker software. Their free-money site (by Zen Entertainment) is supposed to just be a stopgap until real money goes live. Hopefully that's true.

It is not encouraging that the owner stated: “I may not be the biggest or the best but hopefully I’ll have a head start by two or three months.”

I can't believe they would allow south point to go live so soon. A lot of people will be butt hurt if they get a head start
