Done and tweeted!!

I just set up a Twitter account yesterday and made the first one. Now I need to learn how to use it. I have a meeting set up with Patty Murry or who ever she assigns to speak with me on Sept 6. I will make sure to emphasize for her to look at the various social media outlets she has and take note of what people are saying. Along with that just wanted to say nice job everyone.

That's excellent. I wish you well with the meeting. I hope the tips from the Skype group come in handy.

Twitter blocks users from the timeline for many reasons. I was temporarily blocked myself a couple of years ago, but got restored after submitting a problem ticket. They could think you're a spammer, being too aggressive about following people in an attempt to get followers via reciprocity, or many other things.

If all else fails, you can always sign up for a new account.

I met with a several lawmakers at a picnic today: Meetings with lawmakers during August recess. It was definitely worth doing.

Let's focus on deficit super committee member Sen. Rob Portman:

    • Either cut-and-paste, "Please ask the deficit super committee to support HR 2366, Rep. Barton's (R-TX) Online Poker Act. This bill raises $$$ without raising taxes. Thank you." or write your own.
  2. Send a prefilled, editable pro-poker Twitter message HERE
  3. "Like" the main FB page HERE
    • You can unlike the page when you're done if you'd like
  4. Post a pro-poker comment under the post HERE and like the other poker comments

The past EIGHT actions have generated triple-digit participation, so let's keep it growing. Thanks!
we're really filling up the ask for comments section. i'm perfectly happy if an aide casually mentions "stuff, lotsa poker comments, different stuff" in a 1 minute 'social networking rundown' or whatever they do.

Ok. Done -- again. With my other facebook names. Thanks, facebook, for giving me my posting priviledges back!

Everybody please be sure to go to Portman's website, too -- the link we've been posting comments under. He's asking us what to do. Let's be sure to tell him. Doesn't matter what state you're from, either (his site won't reject out of state contacts).

Done. Tweets are so easy.

I'd encourage everyone that says "done" in this thread to do the same thing NVG as that gets so much more traffic than the legislation forum. JMO

Done! I am just wondering, I read if the bill isn't passed by Dec 20th or so it does not look good. I'm excited and I think there is a pretty good chance of this passing after each day of positive press this issue receives. What is possibly the earliest date this gets done? How long after it passes would the sites be up and ready?

I know, I'm jumping the gun, but it is fun to speculate.
