And which body is supposed to oversee that players balances are held in segregated accounts and could a licensing body be held liable if they were not?

Barry Greenstein chimes in on making sure UB/AP were clean b4 advertising them or something back in 2008 just thought it was ironic considering his step-son is now the face of this train wreck

Found this the other day an i thought what have they (KGC) actually done commissioned sites to play agains 'US law' if u want to call it that, not insured segregated player accounts, allowed superusers, bots etc on the different sites they 'commission' they dont even do the RNG auditing.......Whats the point of em?? Y do sites even pay them?

An just 4 fun

Why would the governement step in to assist someone who they had tried to stop for years.

Wait. My guess is that Cereus will be taken over by another company. There is still a decent income stream.

Also I can not see the justification for the US government stealing funds belonging to non US citizens. So maybe they will be returned – really don't understand what's going on here.

Whatever just wait.

Edit:
Apparently they have not decalred bankrupcy, so maybe no real problem here.
Wait and see.

That press release is two days old.

For Cereus to be taken over by another company they'd have to have a sizeable portion of the player balances to hand. If they have this then there's less cause for concern anyway.

Re: UB/AP Players requesting help from legal minds

I took a screenshot of my cashier, and included a webpage page with the current date and time. This isnt perfect obviously.

There has to be a better way to memorialize the current balance to protect our rights should we need to prove it? I fear the software not being able to load one day and all evidence lost.

Any ideas?

Re: UB/AP Players requesting help from legal minds

Waiting is, unfortunately, most of what you guys are going to have to do in the near future.

Your contractual rights to your money are with the Cereus Poker Network. Cereus is still saying it will pay and is not in the process of declaring bankruptcy. The warning signs remain just that, warning signs.

Until there is a clear default or a declaration of bankruptcy, there is little you can do in terms of legal action against Cereus. And any such legal action would probably ultimately have to be settled in Antigua (I think that is where they are incorporated, anyway).

The Cereus funds in the hands of the US government are what I was referring to in my previous post. Again, it is far to early to know if there is a real chance of players being repaid from those funds should Cereus otherwise not pay players.

Both actions remain future possibilities, but cannot be started now anyway.

But you can prepare for those future possibilities should they come about as feared:

1) Make sure you keep all your personal account information in as much detail as you can;

2) Organize your group and agree on a person or group of persons entitled to act on behalf of the group; and,

3) Start looking for a lawyer familiar with federal forfeiture law and international civil claims. There are several such lawyers. One in Manhattan may be preferred, but it is not necessary. Once the group has found the lawyer it likes, retain his or her services and follow that advice in terms of preparing for any future actions/circumstances.

The PPA can help with these efforts if you contact the PPA directly (rather than just post on 2+2). Also, the PPA will continue to monitor the situation and will never stop advocating for the full return of all player funds from all sites. PPA resources, however, are stretched pretty thin right now and I cannot promise that the PPA will be able to provide direct legal intervention on behalf of Cereus players, especially if that effort requires proceedings overseas. And even if the PPA can and does directly intervene legally, you will still be in a better position if your group has its own private attorney on retainer.

Maybe having deposit history combined with hand histories, that should match and corroborate what is displayed on the cashier?

(nothing on UB/AP)

If UB/AP's servers went down tomorrow (or if they just chose to stop letting americans log on), could you prove what your balance is?
Yea. This was like the first thing I did with my account balance at Full Tilt after I heard about everything. I opened up the world clock webpage:

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

And I took a screen shot that showed my local date and time, my Full Tilt account balance, and my Full Tilt account details.

Short video might not be a bad idea either.
