UB/AP Players requesting help from legal minds

As you are already aware, there is a lot going on with the UB/AP situation and the players are obviously worried about their money. I am sure all of the guys understood the risks associated with this company but whatever it is, we are kind of in a helpless situation and wanted to get a discussion going as to what our options are.

1. What are our options right now? I'm guessing approaching DOJ would be our best shot of seeing any money. The seized bank accounts seems to be our only out at this point in time. Also, It's being alleged that today's raids were made at the behest of FBI.

2. Is their a criminal complaint we as players can file under some authority? Antigua, Costa Rica or whatever

3. Can the PPA help in establishing some sort of communication with DOJ?

4. Can we as a group hire a lawyer? Would it help?

To be frank mate I think you need to *know* people, if you see what I mean.

+1. I'd be willing to pay for a lawyer based on a %. We must have 10+ million locked up with Cereus on twoplustwo alone, shouldn't be difficult to find someone good

Get a pool of players together and find one of them who is trustworthy and willing to do some legwork. That person can collect money (this is going to cost you money) and enact decisions made by the group. The international nature of this could end up costing a lot.

How about we get started with a basic website that address our problems?

Also can anyone who is good with websites etc., create a website for our fight? I think it would help immensely in terms of getting the word out and put whatever pressure we can on the DOJ. Domain name(irony) suggestions are welcome!

Youre probably not going to get a lawyer on contingency. It might be possible to hire one outright, but given that its an international case with principals in a ton of different countries and many many complainants, i would expect it to be pretty pricey... like something along the lines of a six-figure retainer plus hourly

I think it's important to know how much the DOJ seized from Cereus specifically. The insider post that has been floating around hints it's an insignificant amount compared to USA balances. I think this is a key fact in determining our game plan (assuming there is a reasonable chance we could petition the DOJ for the release of our funds, which I have no clue if even possible).

Better yet, how about a contact at the PPA Litigation Support Network ?

(The DOJ release of the urls however itself never really had anything to do with paying players. The "Monitor" is not there to ensure players are paid.)

The promise not to screw with player refunds will mean a lot to pStars players, but would mean nothing if the funds to make those payments are tied up with respect to AP/UB or Fulltilt.

Bluntly put, the PPA should offer itself as a Liquidation Trustee for the seized funds, and ensure that players are paid first ..... before the seized funds are applied anywhere else.

I am also a US player with a substantial amount locked up, and obviously willing to take action to get it back.
