PPA, if you are fighting for my rights, get them to bar bad beat jackpots. That crap needs to never be a part of online poker. Bad beat jackpot rake on micro/small stakes online games is deadly.

While I agree with you, I hope the bill is limited in micromanaging poker for the most part.

Keep hitting up Facebook, no reason we cant get 100+ likes for pro poker comments

This! If everyone on 2+2 was active on the FB walls they wouldn't be able to ignore us. It takes only 5 minutes a day. Use the same post everyday for all I care. Let’s GOGOGOGOOOOO.

Can not wait to read this when it comes out. Please let it be, at least mostly positive towards the player. PPA consulting one time.

Slightly OT, but could BBJ even be included in a poker only bill?

Just sent both my states senators this post on their FB page:

Quote:
Hi Senator Cornyn! I voted for you and Senator Hutchison in this last election because I felt our country needed a change after the mess our economy has slumped into. I remember reading an article on Yahoo afterwards that Republicans knew that Americans were not happy with either party, but were giving the Republicans the chance to show us the way. Recently the federal government attacked a personal hobby of mine, online poker. It is a proven game of skill, not a roll of the die. Over 70 million Americans enjoy it in some fashion. It would bring in over 2 Billion annually in taxxable revenue and create 75,000 jobs in the U.S. Will you help support myself as your constituent, and the millions of Americans who enjoy the game on the coming legislation?
switched their names around of course

Fight for Poker Rights: Weekend of May 28th:

This weekend's plan:
  • Let's all visit www.theppa.org/takeaction and send the prewritten letters to our lawmakers.
    • These will be replaced when the Barton poker bill is introduced, so let's get this out now before they become obsolete.
    • PPA will put out new letters when the Barton poker bill is introduced, so we'll all be able to send that letter soon as well.
  • Let's continue to own a lot of Facebook pages (senators, Congressmen, Congressional committees, etc.):
    • The House Financial Services Committee's Facebook page is here.
    • Let's get some posts on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce page (here)
    • The Dept. of Justice's page is here.
    • Senators' FB pages: Senator Facebook Listing
    • We need lots of posts on the issue of poker and lots of "liking" of pro-poker comments.
Thanks!

Do we keep sending prewritten letters if we've already sent them or is that a one time thing?

Rich, what are we doing to EDUCATE the existing Republican potential nominees about this issue? We need to get to them before they take a negative position.

I'd send one a month. If you'd send one within the past month but not within the past two weeks, I'd recommend editing the letter a bit and then sending it.

The question yesterday about Barton's bill was never answered. Does the PPA have any idea as to a timeline on this or are we just hoping that it is introduced soon since he happened to mention that he was working on one?

Barton clearly stated at the rally that his bill would be introduced soon, and that he is finalizing the details with the PPA. I expect to see it introduced some time this week.

Yeah, that's great but I was hoping for a response from someone in the PPA that has been working with him on this that has some real information. TE stated yesterday about being ready if the bill came out Friday leading everyone to believe that there was some kind of info on that.

Hey you'll do me a favor and come "like" my post on John Coryns FB here:

You'll have to scroll down to 23 hours ago. Some idiot posted some random opinion nonsense and I replied as politely as I could. Someone liked his idiotic post so I need some fire on my side thanks!
