My plan is to update this daily with actions we can take. I'll change the thread title daily, of course, as it's updated.

I recorded a new video today with an update on the poker rights fight, plus some Q&A. It's at www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGZ0ZqBMJGA.

If you like it, you can upvote it on Digg.com at http://digg.com/news/technology/ppa_...islation_fight.

No difference. Users can add their own poll questions.

I think it is telling that every post on Bill Frist's page that asks him if he received money from Harrahs has been deleted and posters of these messages blocked. Guess the senator is ashamed of his behavior and refuses to own up to it. Since he represents Tennessee it is up to you voters to get him out of there.
When the link is followed (not logged in) it is sad because I know they are deleting poker related post. The only poker related one they left, when the page is first opened, is the one that makes us all sound like uniformed idiots, see above, since of course Frist retired in 07. Followed the link earlier today and there were 2 other post beneath it that made our standard solid points and now they are both gone.

You can expand and see the poll and such but makes me wonder how much editing is being done and makes me sad that they are pretending to give the public a voice and opinions be heard but really its only to serve their own purposes.

I like the daily task. I am always looking for stuff to do with my free time now.

I have no free time and I'm still willing to pitch in. The government freezing my money and telling me that I can't play cards is unacceptable.

Should we start another thread every month. I have always been intimidated by 100 page 2p2 threads and it might be to much to go though for someone wanting to pitch in?

Also do you like my new avatar?

I'll update the OP with each update.

I'll see how things go and will start new threads as needed.

Love the daily task idea. Simple and easy, catered perfectly for notoriously lazy poker players. Should probably post the threads at peak hours simultaneously in PL and NVG to maximize effectiveness. NVG averages at any given time about 10x as many viewers as PL.

I completely agree that this daily approach is a great idea.

I, too, think this daily approach is a great idea and I agree that it should be cross-posted here and NVG. I also have a few suggestions that will increase the effectiveness in my opinion.

1) Next time, post earlier in the day.
2) Make it individual, non-commentable threads each day so people don't have to wade through pages and pages of comments trying to find the next daily action.
3) Create a separate action comment/suggestion thread so they can suggest actions and comment on the actions posted by Rich and the other suggestions.

What do people think

+1. How about making the daily action thread one sticky. Just add the new day's actions as a new post in the same thread, and update the title with the new date. That way all past actions can be seen in one thread so people can catch up. Keep thread closed, and separate comment/suggestion thread as chaos suggested.

Fight for Poker Rights: Weekend of May 14th
  • Sen. Jon Kyl will be on Fox News Sunday this weekend. Let's post respectful replies to his Facebook announcement of his appearance, at www.facebook.com/jonkyl and like the pro-poker comments made by others. The direct link to the post is at www.facebook.com/jonkyl/posts/10150184981462462.
    • As it's a weekend, they may be slower about deleting our comments.
    • If they do delete them, it means they are being read, so that's not bad either.
    • You have to like Kyl to enable posting comments. You can unlike him after replying to the post if you wish.
  • Continue posting comments and liking pro-poker comments at http://www.facebook.com/GOPFinancialServices.
  • Visit www.theppa.org/takeaction and finish that up
  • Join the Skype Poker Advocacy Group by PMing me with your username.
Thanks!

Let's see how it goes. Right now, I plan to have one thread, where I'll update the OP and title with each new action plan. I hope it grows to the degree that we require a planning thread...that would be great.
