Too bad, this link lacks real info or coverage. you should read this thread instead, I guess. .... or the individual threads about State efforts.
(Even so, it is a marked improvement over the "expert" drivel Card Player used to publish as legal analysis.)

and the cardplayer article was pretty much a copy/paraphraste of gamblingcompliance's recently-released " regtracker".

Re: State legislation watch thread
Utah HB 108 was signed by the Gov. on Monday the 19th, takes effect July 1 2012. As far as I can tell it bans poker in the state and makes it so UT will never opt in. I believe this means I either have to move or stop playing on Carbon by 7/1 as it criminalizes the player. I would appreciate it if someone who is fluent in legislative speak would look over it and make sure I read it correctly.

Ps. Yes I know noone is shocked by this. I'm just posting for info.

You are correct. Starting July 1, in UT it will be illegal to play or offer Internet poker (and all forms of Internet gambling). It will be a Class B misdemeanor for the first conviction of a player, and a Class A misdemeanor for the second and subsequent convictions of a player. It will be a Class A misdemeanor to intentionally offer Internet poker to anyone in UT.

Wish someone would have started an online, non for profit poker site in Utah where all profits from the site go to the Mormon Church there. Anything that the player make is his obviously, but the profits from the site go to the Church.
It would have been interesting to see the reasoning behind closing such an entity, and why, for example, bingo drives for charity there wouldn't be closed.

Re: State legislation watch thread
I'm from Kentucky, and figure the chances are slim, considering the Governors "domain name" crusade, plus the religeos right; but I seem to have heard that Twin Spires purchased a gaming platform. don't remember which one; but the thread is in here somewhere. Anyone have an opinion on that?
