Anything in particular I should suggest? Post any questions you have I'll do my best.

I leave for the dinner in about an hour

Probably too late for me to add anything...I'm sure you did a great job simply by letting him/her know what you want here. Thanks for doing this!

Pretty sure that unless you are a multi millionaire with plans of donating to his campaign, he won't really care what you have to say.

Yeah Please I would like to see a trip report and can you tell us who it was.
Any 1on1 time with a congressman is a good thing whither you donate to his campaign or not.

Its simply good to have face time. It does leave a mark much larger than you might imagine.

Re: So I just found out I'm dining with a Congressman tonight

Congressmen do "dinners" aka fundraisers on an almost daily basis. It's how they raise money for re-election. Lobbyists usually pay $250-5,000 per plate to have "dinner" with a congressman which gives these lobbyists a few minutes to lobby the congressman on whatever issue is important to them.

With that said I'm sure the last thing this congressman wants to do is sit down at a regular, non-fundraising dinner and hear some random Joe try to lobby him about something he probably doesn't care about like poker legislation. I hope someone was smart enough to inform the OP about this before he sat down with him.

I think we dropped the ball on that one lol. However, as Zero astutely pointed out Mr. O8 was infact the dinner. MrO8 no longer to be heard from.

Ok, so Mr. O8 was granted a reprieve provided that he never posts in this thread or speaks of said dinner again?
