Great Job!

This was a victory for internet poker players.
This was a victory for sanity in government.

Well, it looks like the lobbying will need to continue since the Senate wants to start over and craft their own bill:

Quote:
Stanley Rosenberg, an Amherst Democrat who is the Senate's point person on gambling, said senators want to draw up their own legislation, rather than take up DeLeo's plan to license two casinos in the state and up to 750 slots at each racetrack.

"We're going to build the bill from the ground up, with the members all participating," Rosenberg said.

He also said the Senate, unlike the House, would hold a public hearing on the bill.

Not out of the woods yet? Any idea if the Senate wants to make online poker a crime?

This is just a fight over racinos. Id be pretty surprised if the PPA isnt on top of this and if the language gets into the bill. The language seems to get in the House bills because they are all using the same template for their bills.

We need to be diligent, but I feel pretty good about our chances.

Okay...so apparently, watching the battlefield with nighttime binoculars and be willing to fight man-to-man combats seems to be the way to preserve poker. Well done guys!

So crazy that it was so close to happening, I don't know what I would have done. Thanks PPA!
