I put it on the forum at my local paper. I also mentioned the pokerstars freeroll. I would imagine most newspapers have a forum too.

Edit: I also titled it "Freedom Lovers" and asked for everybody who loves freedom to sign it. I wanted to attract more people to open the thread than just poker players.

Re: Please Sign the Poker Petition

...in fact, another 10k today - just under 370,000 now. Much of this is thanks to members of this forum - so our sincere thanks for spreading the word! (and thanks to 2+2 for the banners, also.)

Please note that there is one more thing you can do to help the cause - send a letter to your Senator and Representative. Go to one of the following links (your choice), send a letter and you'll get a ticket into a $10,000 freeroll on August 1 (PokerStars) or August 2 (Full Tilt or Cake). Note that you can only get one ticket, and must use the email address you used when you signed up on (Stars, FTP, Cake):

www.nationalpokerweek.com/pokerstars
www.nationalpokerweek.com/fulltilt
www.nationalpokerweek.com/cakepoker

I wish that was the question. The question is " Will we get a response from Obama?"

There's no way of knowing. President Obama has been very quiet about this issue.

We do know we'll go further by doing stuff like this than not. I realize that's a given, but it's important to keep in mind, IMO.

Re: Please Sign the Poker Petition

What I don't get is how is the PPA a "one million" member organization and the petition only has 38% of that total right now. PPA might have to re-evaluate this number it kind of comes off as bogus.

You really expected 100% of membership to sign? Less than 50% of the country for in the Presidential Election.

Standard response rates for email requests for action for groups like ours are only 1% - 2%. 38% is a phenomenal response and really serves to show the support our position enjoys.
