Re: Obama or Romney

I think we're screwed either way. Our last best hope is a Harry Reid hail mary during lame duck session. Otherwise it's a long slog state by state.

There is a difference.

Romney is supported by the biggest opponent of online poker.

Obama has at least acted for and against us and released a statement that it is state business.

Obamas position is better than Romneys for us, even though it is still pretty ****ty and he does not care about our cause.

But he is at least not an enemy!
I think you pretty much nailed it.

If I were voting based on this issue alone, I'd vote Obama and I'm someone who was raised in a Republican household and now counts himself as an independent libertarian.

OP, Gary Johnson is the 3rd party candidate that nobody is going to vote for except people who actually pay attention. That said...

Gary Johnson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Obama >>> Romney and there's no debate about it.

If I had to give an answer (other than what I already said), this would be it. If I were a single-issue voter, I would vote for Gary Johnson who has a very clear stance on the issue of online poker.

I am not a single-issue voter though. And I do think that Obama is probably better for our cause than Romney for reasons stated by Knricky. Adelson would own Romney. He is against people giving huge amounts of money to super pacs here but since other people are doing it, he will infuse as much money as needed into Romney's campaign-- oops, I mean super pac -- to get him elected. That would be uber-bad for online poker, imo.

Re: Obama or Romney

I think Obama is a bit better as opposed to Romney, for reasons already stated and my experience following the issues. Some might suggest there's little difference either way, they're wrong, being backed by a billionaire means he'll be running the show at least on the issues of most importance to him, and he's in the industry and against online expansion. I think it's quite obvious that if this is the issue most important to you, you can't vote Romney. That said, we're boned either way. It's just about the size of the bone.

True.
If you are in a swing state where things are close, forget Johnson and if ipoker is a main concern, vote Obama.

If you are in a state that it does not matter (I am in WV and the GOP could run Stalin and win here) vote for Gary Johnson as a protest against the GOP (he is a former republican).

If my only concern was IP I would probably vote for Obama. That being said that's not my only concern and I think over the long haul having a better economy will be what's best for poker. Romney

This is clearly naive. Obama's DOJ caused alot of harm with Black Friday. I know it was over a year ago, but still I think we should all be able to remember. And Harry Reid was instrumental in this. Black Friday cleared the field for his Casino backers to get the upper hand in On-line poker. So Obama is NOT better for on-line poker.

On a more imnportant note: Do the Heat close it out tonight?

Id fix the last line to say "But we at least arent sure he's an enemy", which makes it really, really hard to be a one issue poker voter in this race (Gary Johnson aside)

If you were grading these candidates just on poker, what would you give them? Id say Romney: F, Obama: C-.

EDIT: Want to make sure I dont come across as underselling how much Romney would suck for us. Wire Act 2 is a nice, ripe bone he could throw to his base on the right, particularly his $100MM benefactor.
