Jacoby said he believes the governor's remarks signaled that the state would seek to defend the plan under the 14th Amendment, affording citizens equal protection under laws.

He said he also anticipated a federalism argument contending that the federal government did not have the authority to regulate gambling under the enumerated powers granted it by the Constitution and that such powers belong to the states.

Re: Is NJ going to renew a push for instate Ipoker?

Now that the summer is over and Sept. session is getting ready to start, what kind of movement can we start to see on this (I-poker)?

Are there any timetables for voting that we need to know about? Who are the players that we need to send FB or emails to so that this can move along?

Thanks

Re: Is NJ going to renew a push for instate Ipoker?

What exactly are we looking for here when they start "moving" on these bills?

Simply put, when can we expect to be up and running playing online poker in the state of New Jersey?

The Nevada governor signed the NV bill to implement the licensing and regulation of online poker in NV on 6/10/2011. The first NV-licensed site is expected to go live next month. That's probably a good benchmark, although it might take NJ somewhat longer as they want to license and regulate more than just poker.

So by that time table we are looking at Sept to Dec of 2013, unless something breaks at the federal level?
