Thanks - I lost track. I is indeed S1565, which had its second reading in the Senate on 5/24. So, I'd say it is definitely procedurally possible for the bill to get passed by the end of this month, now that the Assembly bill has made it out of committee to its second reading.

I just saw this little blurb on Yahoo.

The part that jumped out at me was "As it currently stands, the bill would allow Atlantic City casinos to accept Internet bets from gamblers in other states, as long as such activity is consistent with federal law."

Is this too good to be true?

It would have to be consistent with the laws of the other state, which basically means it won't be happening in the near future.

But it does lead it open to other countries being pooled into it as written.

Re: Is NJ going to renew a push for instate Ipoker?

Are we still looking at Sept. before it comes up for a vote?

If that is true, we are looking end of Nov. to middle of Dec. before it becomes law if CC does nothing and the 45 days pass.

The timeline for this becoming law is around the same time that the first online poker hands will be dealt in Nevada. And we will have a lame duck congress. The darkest days of poker (ie right now) will be in the rear view mirror...

I think the realities of intrastate, regulated and heavily taxed Ipoker will not be that appealing to the online grinders of the past.

If the games are beatable for 5-10bb then that will overcome the tax hurdle.

The taxes we'll pay personally are no big deal. It all comes down to whether the sites get taxed to the point they have to rake like 10% (or just claim that they need to, which is probably more likely lol) to make a profit.

Something was is supposedly signed/passed yesterday. Anybody know what? What it means and what the next steps are?

Atlantic City’s casinos could be among the first to capitalize on the U.S. Department of Justice’s reinterpretation of the Wire Act by offering interstate progressive slots play, according to an amended gaming regulatory reform bill passed by the New Jersey Assembly on Monday.

I didn't have access to the article in the link, but based on the excerpt I think by "Monday" they mean Monday, June 18, and by "Assembly" they mean Assembly Committee. According to the NJ Legislature website, there has been no action on A2578 since Monday, June 18th.

kinda like in NV. obviously really makes sense to be pooling and allowing anybody to play.

I assume they could allow it with UK gamblers right away. So could NV.

I think it might be a bit more complicated than you think.
