Gary Loveman video on CNNMoney

He says he thinks Americans will be playing poker online "very soon." Seems to lean toward federal regulation and of course makes a good case for why it should be legal.

He also said in 2011 that online poker would be back up by the end of the year and look how that turned out. I wouldn't pay much attention to him

Id be more excited about this if I hadnt seen him say basically the exact same thing last year or if he was running a company that didnt need to sell a growth story, any growth story, to investors in order to refinance the kazillion dollars of debt coming due over the next 2-4 years.

Haha true, gotta get the investors fired up. But it would be discouraging if he changed his tune and said they weren't worried about the online market in the US anymore.

^^^ any mention can't be bad, the alternative is much worse, but I know we are all down right now .. we just have to wait until the elections either help us or bury us.

"in many places"

He didn't say anything...everybody knows poker is coming to at least Nevada. To say many places takes only one suckout in one state legislature to make it true (NJ anybody?)

Does sound like a lot of the same but it was for CNNMoney and not a poker related site, so it's good to see.

He's said it before on non-related poker sites, last year he made the rounds on CNBC,FOX,other major news outlets doing interviews saying a federal bill looks like it can get done by the end of the year(2011) Here he is on fox business back in August 2011 saying he thought a federal bill could get before the holidays if Congress could get their heads out of their asses (paraphrasing) http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/11273...asino-industry

Gary Loveman's opinion is worthless.

Seriously...

...It's all worthless conjecture, partly in an attempt to generate good news for CZR which is desperate to get out of massive debt, and even explicit federal legalization might not save them.

How is this good again? There's been a ton of online poker exposure since April 2011. People don't care.

I still meet a lot of people who don't know about black friday or the status of online poker. Businessmen and new kid's with dreams will see this on CNNMoney, a casino CEO talking about this business that's coming back and can be invested in. The majority of exposure has been scandalous, so to have mainstream exposure that is positive or even neutral certainly wouldn't hurt.

People will care when they see it as a new way to make money, just like we all did.
