I was mostly stressing that even though it appears in good shape anything can happen. But I do believe it does look in good shape to pass it's first hearing, however I am not an expert in the process and was unaware when the amendments would be happening. From your post in the 1463 thread it does seem like this bill is being amdended for a better chance if not better bill.
I believed it was in good shape for SGOC because 100% of the committee unanimously approved a sports betting bill that would require the future lifting of a federal ban. Intrastate poker would not need this thanks to the DoJ reversal in December. This showed that everyone in the committee believes in a citizen's right to gamble with their money, even in ways the feds currently deem illegal.
Even if/when it does pass the SGOC it will still be a huge battle, or even before it reaches it's first hearing. Does anybody with more knowledge on this process have any suggestions on where else our voices would be best heard right now? We'd need a big push for the Governor.
