Ad for AmericasCardroom.net on US tv.

I was walking by a tv yesterday and stopped for a minute because they had poker on. It went to commercial and the first ad was for AmericasCardroom.net, advertising just as pokerstars or FT would but specifically addressing US players.

I'm on their site now and perhaps i'm looking into this too much, but it seems like they know something that we don't and have invested into making this whole client (24/7 live support) and whatnot geared towards US players in order to get a head-start once ipoker is legalized here.

Am I reading too much into this?

The poker site is formally known as Doyles room. Just another offshore site looking to milk the US market while it can.

What show were you watching and on what channel?

AC has advertised with the wsop since, most notably, the tuesday after black friday, and yesterday was tuesday... i think that's our culprit.

They won't be involved in a regulated USA poker environment.

They likely think (or maybe do) have enough of their assets removed from the reach of the DOJ that they believe this is a good idea.

Second sentence is my own speculation, but I'm basing it on the actions that they were targeted on Blue Monday I believe and just seemed to hardly miss a beat since.
