6 months later, Why dont WE take control and get our poker back

Hi All,

I am usually quite but have been emailing and yelling at the top of my lungs to anyone who can here me Poker is legal and should be taxed and regulate. The thing is i am pissed and want to get everyone moving.

There is suposed to be 10+ million people playing poker online on black Friday in the USA and over 1 million membors in the PPA. So what do i see on the white house petiotion. 8 thousand and change. Are you kidding me. WE HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE THIS RIGHT AND IT IS TIME TO GET IT FIXED NOW. One person i know said poker is dead and it is hard to argue with them after seeing that petition. My wife even thinks poker is now ileagal in the USA based on news articals and has asked me to stop playing. If we dont take the bull by the horns it will not get done any time soon.

Here is what i think we should do. If any one from the PPA reads this please feel free to use my ideas. I am hoping you do.

This Saterday is the 6 month anerversry of black friday. 6 months, REALLY. How many emailes have you writen lately, have you signed the petition. I say we all on this Saterday email, post on face book and tweet everyone of our "great " leaders of this country and tell them how we feel. YES use the PPA form letter but dont send this just the once we all must send this 6 times this week on Saterday.Post on there face books 6 times and Tweet 6 times if you can. LETS REMIND THESE GUYS WE ARE STILL HERE. Hey PPA email everyone on your list to do this every day this week. IF just 20% of the membors follow the 6 times request we will have over 1.2 million emails and facebooks coment and tweets. This will get someone attention i think. Imaginge if we can get everyone to do this.

I will be doing my part this Saterday with the 6 emails and facebook post. "I dont have a twitter account". Will you goin me in a day of anger? We need to let them know we are still here and pissed off. I have seen sevaral news articals say the online poker movment is losing momentem. I SAY WE SHOW THEM SOME MOMENTEM timed by 6.

I am tired of waiting. Lets get to work everyone. If we can do this even for this one day our great leaders "LOL" may actually get worried about how we will vote in the elections next year. Lets show them we have the power.

6 months = 6 emails.

Tell your friends and family.

lol @ the PPA doing stuff, only way anything would ever get done is if everyone pitched in and did real work. Whether is be protesting the DOJ, all the casinos etc. Too many degens though, so it will never happen.

Re: 6 months later, Why dont WE take control and get our poker back

assuming you don't have a platform to have the ear of millions, just about the only influence you can have is:

vote for only pro-poker candidates in every local election

vote for Ron Paul

donate to the PPA, which is about as coordinated an effort for influencing beneficial change as you're going to get from lazy, apathetic gamblers/poker players

contact your local lawmakers as much as possible, as often as possible

it is also important to educate every single person you happen to talk to about poker on the nature of the game itself, how and why the prohibitions on poker came to be, and also explain that all scandals in the history of online poker exist because the government has refused to explicitly legalize and regulate the industry

show me a non-celebrity that has millions of followers please

ETA: furthermore, show me anyone who can make a dent of influence bigger than the PPA's. we have several posters trolling them, and tons others telling them what they're doing wrong yet do not have the werewithal to even attempt to "have the ear of millions" on their collective own

lol dude...relax. OP is obv not RWJ or hsc, which was my point. unless he's going to great lengths to achieve the attention garnered by these two examples, he might as well do the things i suggested.

Re: 6 months later, Why dont WE take control and get our poker back

The PPA needs to set up a poker site for its members.

We need to have an alternative to the existing model, which are for-profit sites that serve players. There are plenty of platforms and tech that would be able to be licensed. There are plenty of ways to fund the admin of the site, including subscriptions or raking each pot.

Deposits and cash outs would be handled by a PPA credit union.

If sent to the members, I am confident that they would support it.
