Why can't pokerstars just say ok on the 5 years penalty thing in California?

And let the native Americans have first dibs at getting sites set up in California? They're just wasting money and time on a issue the Indians are never concede on. So what if you enter the market with them having 5 years ahead on you. You're the biggest poker brand ever, and when you do enter in the 6th year, you're gonna get a bunch of their market. Your first cali revenue in 6 years from now is gonna be better than you earning nothing the next 10-20 years because you keep keep wasting money and time in California just for everyone to end up in a stalemate.

If you read the actual bill text, it's designed to be able to exclude PokerStars (and some other offshore sites) forever, not just five years, even though it technically has a "5-year penalty".

Re: Why can't pokerstars just say ok on the 5 years penalty thing in California?

It's simple really

It's because Pokerstars is not in this for you, or for me, or for any of us. Pokerstars is in it for themselves. They aren't going to spend a dime lobbying to create an industry that they are excluded from. Period.

They are more concerned with building the brand they paid five billion dollars for than anything else, and no one should be naive enough to think otherwise. They are not our friend nor our ally. The players are a 'fan base' they hope will speak up for them, but they don't really care if we do or not
