Thanks for a good response. I'm swedish so my representatives wouldn't help much.

I'm sure you have already thought of everything but just wanted to give my take of what I would do if I was american and got to speak with some higher ups:

Give some statistics, American government is badly in need of money. Tell them americans can only play on sites registered in the US so the sites have to pay taxes to the state/government but would also accept everyone from ROW. Sites like party and stars would probably move there within a week. You would have the rake from the entire world taxed by the US government. A normal grinder rakes $10k/month of which they could probably tax the site for $5k, and there will be thousands of grinders. A decent, standard reg will make around $10k a month, that's another $120k a year to tax. Now, of course they won't be able to tax non muricans for winnings but they still get to tax their rake. This is a great way of moving funds from around the world straight to the government.

I would like to see the ROW online poker providers in the United States. The way I see it, the more competition and the bigger the player pools are, the better for the players.

My understanding is that PokerStars has something in the works in New Jersey. When and if they enter the market, it will be a 3 way competition between WSOP NJ, Borgata, and PokerStars. I look forward to it. Due to regulatory concerns, I don't think NJ will allow the NJ players to play against PokerStars players from ROW.

For now, each state that legalizes online poker will remain a closed market. Right now, Delaware and Nevada share player pools. Hopefully New Jersey can link up with them and also share player pools with New York, California, & other states decide to offer online poker.
