Thanks for that, malefiicus. That's big.

We need to facebook the hell out of the senate and get them moving on a federal poker bill.

Surely the states have been breathing down their necks forever about the legality (esp lotteries)---even though we all know the Wire Act should never have been an issue. Maybe Congress was under the impression they had to make a law to make ANY poker legal. Now, they might say "lolz 10th amendment, not our problem, ok bye"

Well, the hearing is for ~Barton's bill, right? It seemed that the hearing was a "pony and dog show" (whatever numerous people, including C.Krafcik, have called it) - an exhibition for general public. It's thought that the only way for iPoker to become anything of substance is via H. Reid, so perhaps the third one isn't necessary (please, please, please)???

I was under the impression the hearings were re: online poker, not specifically re: HR 2366

The first two House hearings were about online gambling in general, not H.R.2366, nor online poker specifically.

I thought H.R.2366 was implied. Weren't those hearings on Barton's initiative (so to say)?

To an extent, but mostly everything that was discussed was quite general.

Hopefully he's just saying that so the republicans will be like Frank doesn't want it so we're going to force it down their throats!

and we all know why, so there we go. exactly what we all imagined would happen is happening. now if only we could just groupthink our way into bending the universe into glueing poker onto the back of something in the senate i think we'll all be pretty proud of ourselves.

Would I be a hypocrite if I were on Kyl's wall saying "What are you going to do to stop the potential proliferation of instate online gambling?" I'll call him up and tell him that to his face too!
