Thank you for contacting our office and sharing your concerns with Senator Colbeck regarding the regulation of internet poker and iGaming, addressed through Senate Bill 889.

Senator Colbeck is opposed to SB 889.

He generally opposes increased government regulation, especially when it is driven by the quest for additional tax revenue.

The status of SB 889 can be tracked on this Michigan Legislature webpage: http://legislature.mi.gov/(S(xisfgtx...e=2016-SB-0889

Thank you again for reaching out to us on this important issue. If you have further concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Sincerely,

Matthea Brandenburg
Office of State Senator Patrick Colbeck

got a call from the ppa this afternoon (actually like 4 missed calls and then a conversation) that there's potential online poker movement this week maybe as soon as tomorrow, and to call my state senator.

It was a couple of trees.
The first one was that an expansion of gambling in Michigan violates the state constitution.
The second tree was the fiscal impact statement that found it would cost more money to regulate online gambling than the state would receive.
The PPA heard these trees fall, but didnt tell anybody. It just stopped dispatching 15 tweets a day asking people to send emails to their legislators.

You really should. Everybody in the ROW is using VPNS and other illegal tactics to play on ignition because the games r so good compared to everything else out there. People always want what they cant have and dont realize when they have it good.

I hope this does not pass again. Playing with only Michigan players on sites that are owned by current casino operators in Michigan is going to be fail hard.

MGM/Greektown/motor city and tribal casino sites. NO THANKS

I will be cutting my America visits down to once every two years if it does pass. Games are amazing in the USA as is.

Today at 1pm ET, the Michigan Senate Regulatory Reform Committee will hold a hearing on S. 203, which would license online poker and online casino-style gaming. PPA Executive Director John Pappas will testify on behalf of the poker community.

There are a few other agenda items, so the poker part may not start until sometime later in today's session.
