I doubt bank statements would work since one could always have another bank account somewhere and there's no way to prove that you've submitted a complete list of all your accounts.
If you have a check from FTP that wasn't honored at your bank, you can submit scans of the check as part of your petition documentation.

The issues are ACH withdrawals and check withdrawals where no check was received from FTP. For ACH withdrawals, showing your bank statements for the related bank account might help, as it is likely that GCG has the player bank account info as part of the FTP player records. Checks withdrawals that weren't received are harder to prove, obv. I don't think the new FTP will provide any related banking info from those times, but it is possible that GCG has those records as well.

I'm with DaShizWiz...Anyone else a little leery of giving their SSN and bank account information...Am I overthinking it and being too cautious. I have a little over $1,100 in my account and would like to put it in my pocket, but is it worth the risk?

Any others having second thoughts or am I being an extreme pessimist?

You're worried about giving the government your Social Security number?

Take some time and really think about that.

Ha....NO!

I'm worried that some "techie" could set up a website and make it look legit, while scamming customers out of critical information to their financial security!

So...your saying you have no worries I'm assuming...

I haven't received it but I clear my spam folder frequently so I might have screwed my self. I knew all this was going down but for some reason didn't realize they were sending out an email and I barely go through my spam. So I don't know if I haven't received the email or did receive it and deleted it.

I have never been an affiliate but I wonder if I got tagged as one. I took in a lot of coaching fees from P2P on FTP. I have no idea but this is my guess why I didn't get an email.

Anyways, when things are not going right its easy to get negative. But I thought about it a lot and I am still hopeful that it gets resolved for everyone. Its not like $6K is make or break for me, but after 2 years with more and more good news, part of me just felt like eventually I would get it back.

There's been way too much publicity for this to be some sort of scam to get your banking info.

Is anyone else being prevented from logging in to view their claim? I get:

The claims website has successfully been able to look up balances for me and lots of other people. No way a scammer would have that info, so us early risk-takers made it 100% safe for you.

Bringing my sordid tale from the CGC thread...

tl;dr version :

No email received.
Sent email to CGC asking to send / resend email with Control numbers
Received reply that I was classified as an affiliate and illegible for remission claim

Was a high volume player for years and did have 4-5 players sign up and play under my affiliate code.

I certainly wasn't a corporation with any official relationship with FTP, just a player with a blog with banner ads from FTP's affiliate program.

Will email ppa soon to see if they can help.

I think you are being overly paranoid. How do you deal with the current high tech world being this paranoid. Do you ever buy goods and services online? Did you deposit money to your FTP account? SSNs are like everyone's national ID card. I must give that out as a form of verification several times per month. Surely you must have assets at banks, brokerage firms, mortgages, insurance companies and other crap where you have to use your SSN on almost daily basis.

If you were an affiliate, then you were complicit in the fraud committed by FTP, at least from one point of view. I can also see your point of view, being just a small fry affiliate and probably most of your funds being winnings at the table. I think you are SOL. Not sure what you think the PPA can or should do on your behalf. Maybe hire a lawyer . . .

I'd send documentation showing what you made as an affiliate and subtract that from your balance.

It's a hail mary, I don't hold out much hope for you getting paid.

I unfortunately agree. I'm certainly not the only person this has happened to. Asking the PPA for assistance is filed under the Can't Hurt to Ask category.

How are the affiliate credits to your FTP account tagged in your transaction history?

Thanks. I'm in a situation where I'm flagged as an affiliate and I don't know how. I searched my entire account history from January 2007 to May of 2011 and I never received any credits as an affiliate. Not one penny. I don't ever remember signing up to be an affiliate. I wonder what my chances are of getting my money.

How do you sign the claim petition?

"Once you input your electronic signature ..."

Just type it in. It's considered equivalent to a (hand-signed) signature.

Rich,

Will there be any update via the PPA at all in specific regards to all the "affiliate" confusion? I have a big playing balance and was a very small affiliate (one referred friend), and I don't know how to proceed with my claim. Do I claim my entire balance, my balance minus affiliate payments with a letter of explanation and my FTP transaction history, something else, etc. Seems like there is a LOT of confusion with regards to this specific topic, and there aren't any conclusive answers from anyone at the GCG. Seems like if anyone from the PPA could clear this up at all with someone highish up at the GCG/DOJ, that would be a huge help. DF herself said she was shocked that "affiliates" did not receive emails. I (and I believe many others) are waiting to hear something from someone we trust before we do anything at this point.

Thanks for any help (this sure is stressful)!

I requested a check withdrawal 11PM on 4/13. It is a physical impossibility for me to have received that check on or before 4/15. Any checks that were deposited on 4/15 or after did not clear. The accounts were frozen. If the GCG needs confirmation of this I suggest they contact the DOJ. Many people requested withdrawals on 4/15, none were received and it seems most were not credited back to the player's FT accounts.

Does every player need to prove the unprovable when it is obvious that there is no way we could have received payment from FT? Is it enough "proof" to tell GCG that there is no way a valid check could have been received and even if it were there was no way it could be cashed against a frozen account?

What is the email to get this excel sheet from FTP? I have not received an email. I'm not an affiliate to my knowledge.

I called GCG two days ago and they said they would have a specialist call me back. That hasn't happened.

This is kind of stressful and sucks. I have 24K that I'd like to get back. I earned it.

I have a ton of affiliate to player transfers. They were my rakeback payments. Is that normal or is this the reason I haven't received an e-mail yet?

I have discussed this within PPA. We will try to get clarification from GCG and will seek to explain our position on this issue.

We have a couple of months until the deadline, so anyone with any questions here may wish to hold off until we all learn more.
