Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
seems like it's all that could be done realistically... refusing to count the deck down afterwards is mind boggling though.

Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
i mean, you cant really reconstruct past hands as ppl can just leave anytime after their hand is folded. it's the casino's job to guarantee the integrity of the game at any time, so they should basically reimburse players for their losses - not that this is ever gonna happen.

Absolutely never ever. But I would 100% always say something if I knew a deck wasn't right in a poker game.

Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
for how many hands? Are you taking money from people that are up? What if those people left the casino? How are you going to determine how much people are down?

Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
well I guess some people could lie, casino shud pay back people who are down since that deck was on the table, it's the casino's mistake
I was initially thinking people who are up gives money back to people who are down but I guess some people may have left

Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
Realistically I don't think he should expect a cent back from other players or the casino even, but to not examine and throw away the deck is horrible, and a great way to let someone intending on cheating get away with it. Also, between this hand, the 24 hand, and other rumors of bad decks I hope no one ever plays cash in the rio again.

Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
Surprised this hasn't been talked about before considering the whole room stopped to follow the commotion and 3 high stakes tables broke because of what eventuated...Can anyone else confirm this actually went down?
If true... definitely disgusting.

Holy **** dude think about this, the deck is ****ed right? And you just lost a hand which has set up written all over it but the MAIN thing to consider here is as soon as you realize the deck is ****ed the guy walks with your money!!! What the **** man this is so unbelivebly ****ed, as for what i would have done!! pull out my phone, film the whole thing and state what just happened, your in the RIO! If that video had hit youtube their reputation would be tarnished, the wsop would probably move to another venue man, you could even get the other players at your table to verify your story!
Also i know this sounds bad but the guy leaving when you find the deck is ****ed is just wayyy to wierd, if i was in your position id have followed him out of the casino and forced him to go to every ATM machine untill my five grand was withdrawn, it depends, what did he look like? The inocent old man or a thugish guy? If the man looked decent and just happend to be caught up in all this **** and was scared of loosing his winnings than fair enough, this is still one hell of a story man, i feel for you

Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
First thing you should of done was go back the following day and talk to one of the floors superiors, made sure that the issue that occured was known and not just swept under the rug, staying calm and respectful obv.
Secondly i would go as far to pay money to check tapes make sure dealer wasn't bottom dealing or w/e during the incident, he/she is completely responsible for the state of the deck and there is no reason for there to be more than 52 cards in the deck.
I would also have security check up on the tapes to see whether or not villian was adding cards to the deck and find out what exactly happened.
The way that you handled the incident is ridiculous to just walk away and leave it at that and makes me think it's not true.

no ***** way! casinos make too much for me to care about ripping them off for a few k, probs give it to charity or something. Remind me of a drunken beerpong sesh in old o'sheas, full roulette table, ball clearly lands on 13 (total brick for table), dealer spikes 17 and pays out EVERYONE; no floor came, nothing, dealer got a nice tip at the end though.

Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
I mean the bottom line is that there is simply no rule that says you have to point out a mistake made by the dealer in the pit... just like you don't have to point it out when you table your hand playing the board and your opponent mucks. Trying to freeroll someone when you know you're playing a faulty deck is straight up cheating imo...

Re: Worst nightmare @ WSOP. Finally ready to discuss
pretty sure for the previous hands it sucks REALLY hard but you can't get your money back, as said it's impossible (nearly) to track exactly how much anyone is up (like if someone folded a few blinds, others won a few blinds etc)
terrible situation, makes me scared to play live cash..
