Let's define high volume as > 500k hands/year. Winning players only obviously.

What % of days (not sessions, go to days sessions tab, then change to day in HEM) do you win?

Also interested in how this correlates with winrate.

If you vote, please post what you voted for and how many hands/month you play.

i win slightly greater than half of all days.

i play about 20-25k hands a month.

dunno my bb/100 but i win ~$1.25 per hand.

Thanks.

If you play a little less than 500k hands or w/e feel free to vote as well, but note in your post how many hands you play etc as Marshall28 did.

168 winning days and 167 losing days.

i find that interesting and surprising since my bb/100 is quite good actually.

a possible explanation could be that i'm not the typical masstabler/grinder (~20k hands/month). when i have a bad start i sometimes quit after 20min and dont return for the rest of the day. so i guess i just win more on winning days than i lose on losing days.

define "quite good actually"

I don't really know what's "good" anymore, which was part of my motivation for this thread.

This year 530k hands, 166 winning, 82 losing. High winrate and the tendency to keep grinding until im unstuck. I'm always tempted to quit when i'm up a bunch too but i've been trying to work on that.

quitting when you're up a bunch is not a bad thing imo, it's good for balance in life I guess since usually when you never quit until unstuck you sometimes end up playing like 12 hours (at least I do)

200k hands, 12bb/100, 68% winning days, somehow managed to play very well and rostucko a lot of sessions this year instead of quitting. Not sticking around for long when starting off on a heater, mainly because Im ******ed.

250k hands, 9bb/100, 66% winning days.

This number has a lot to do with one's playing habits as well. Some people play play longer when they are down, but calling it a day early when ahead.

Is there any way to see it in HM1 withotu manually counting green days in session tabs ?
I suspect I lose more often than I win as I've learnt to quit when I am down but often continue playing long hours when I am up.

I have HM2 and I sorted my days tabs by amount won (so all my winning green days were above my losing red days) and exported into Excel. From there you can look at the cell #'s to see total days played, winning days, etc. I'm not sure if there's a way to do it automatically, but this would be faster than manually counting.

Anybody who wins >65% of the days has to be doing something wrong. Or they don't have enough days to account for variance.

People who win >80% of days probably eat like a pigeon and **** like an elephant.

I will do my math later but intuitively with wr like yours and sessions like 2k hands long you would win 65+% of sessions.
Quick try: 80bb/100 stddev is 80bb*sqrt(20) = 357bb/2k hand.
With winrate say 8bb/100 your ev is 160bb so 0.44 std dev which would mean 67% of winning sessions.
I just guessed 80bb/100 std dev number though, no idea what it really is (my hm reports 62bb/100 for last 100k hands of 2.5/5 ZOOM; it's probably less than for most people) .

That being said you probably don't play 2k hands/day too often with winrate that high and your overall volume.

I think a standard deviation of 80bb/100 is way too low. Anytime I check my numbers its between 110 and 115 bb/100 for holdem.

i have 80%+ , I tend to grind it out if im losing, this does obviously mean that my losing sessions are bigger than winnings on average but im like 99% better at not tilting than rest of the field so my sometimes long sessions when stuck don't really affect my results that much. Winning 5bb+/100 at 3/6+. I dont know works for me and ive always done it. I also only play 1 session per day, helps to stop thinking about the game when ur done for the day.

Yea I've never had a std dev under 100 in my life. I don't have access to my db but I'd be surprised if I've won over 60% of my sessions lifetime.

A degenerate pit gambler using a martingale system could book a tiny win for the day a very high percentage of the time. Anyone whose percentage of winning days dwarfs their number of losing days over a big sample is almost certainly doing something wrong. At the very least, by making too many suboptimal early quits when games are better than average. At worst, by playing a spewy high variance style when they are stuck.
