You are correct, it would only be voided if a listed pitcher at the time of the bet agreement didn't end up starting (which almost always changes the line). In cases like yesterday: technically Cliff Lee was a pitching change, but the announcement was made so early that he was listed as the Rangers' starting pitcher basically all day, and therefore was listed when all the bets on that game were made yesterday, so those all had action. Looks like the pitching change in the Royals/Wsox game happened at about 10:30 this morning which I think is when fppME made his post so it's probable that no one bet on that game before the pitching change was announced and line was adjusted.
Edit: This is just IMO, you guys can obviously reach whatever agreement you'd like. The main reason bets get cancelled ITT after pitching changes is because it changes all the lines and totals, like when the change was announced in KC/CHW, the line went from KC -123 to KC +132, and the total jumped from 8.5 to 9.5 (so in the future your guys' bet would most likely have action since the 9.5 total line was used which was the correct line after the pitching change... hope this helps
