New Zealand is a great place to live and play poker, I pay zero taxes. If anyone has any questions about life in New Zealand feel free to ask.

Re: Official MSNL Moving Abroad Thread AKA Everyone Panic and Flee

The buying power of USD in New Zealand at the moment is even greater than it is in Australia. To give a random example, the price of a Big Mac is $4.45 New Zealand dollars, which is $2.45 USD. Other goods and services will show a similar price decrease compared to the US, and there is no tipping. New Zealand is a place where Australians go and are pleased with their increased buying power. Australia is a place where Americans come and are pleased with their increased buying power. You do the math.

Rent will be low in most places because there aren't massive cities like Sydney. The biggest city in New Zealand by far is Auckland, which has an urban area population of a bit over 1.3 million. (By comparison Sydney has about 4.3 million and Melbourne 3 million). I haven't been to Auckland, but it has a reputation of being a bit of a hole. I love New Zealand, it's a great country, but it's not the place to move if you're looking for excitement, nightclubs, high rise apartments, etc. It's the place to move if you're looking to chill out, it has awesome people, incredible nature/scenery, good skiing etc.

Ryan may correct me here, but if I was moving to NZ I would probably live in Christchurch (population: 400K or so) on the South Island. The South Island is the location of a lot of the best scenery, skiing, extreme sports, backpacker towns etc.

Writing this post is making me want to backpack around NZ for a month or two, something I've been meaning to do for a while. I'll probably wait till ski season.

Yea probably correct for the most part. I live in Wellington (capital) and it has a similar population to Christchurch. If your into basically anything outdoorsy, golf and want a fairly relaxing atmosphere New Zealand is a good place to go. If looking for hookers, blow and high stakes degeneracy New Zealand wont be the best place.

These seem like viable options.
Im from Sweden and I will give some pros and cons about Sweden

Pros:
Hot girls
Cheap and very fast internet everywhere
No taxes on poker
Nice summers
Loads of snow in the northern parts during the winter if you like that
Everyone under 60 speaks good english and it wont be any kind of problem if you only speak english

Cons:
Housing will be a big problem since most Swedish cities atm have a big shortage of apartments
Most foreginers complain about Sweden being expensive but the USD is atm raping the swedish currency so at least its getting cheaper
Bad wheater from oct-apr or something like that depending on where are you are

Although I like Sweden I wouldnt recommend it for a group of 2p2ers looking for a place too grind for a couple of months.

Shoot me a pm if anyone have any questions since I dont think I will looking in this thread very often
