Re: Official IPoker Thread

Out of curiosity, who the F is tiltmonkey112?

I played him at 3/6 and he absolutely destroyed me even tho he 3betted me well over 50% :S I gave up after dropping quick 4-5 buyins over two tables(two massive bad beats), figured i was going on apemonkeytilt by his aggression and this would not end well.

Then he jumps on and played this dude davidhasselhoff2 on 5/10 and they were playing extremely deep over 2 tables. It ended with tiltmonkey112 sitting on a $12k stack and a $8k stack. I would imagine half of it was hasselhoffs or so because he took an early lead but lost it all.

Anyway, this seems to have grown big now as a grudge match , or hasselhoff2 just wants to clean him out. They are 3 tabling 10/20 against each other now as we speak.

Anyone got some sweet gossip? I like this tiltmonkey112 dude even tho he raped me for a few k.

oh well, i am securing some popcorn if they go megadeep again.

I get the feeling that the account is borrowed by someone by looking at that giraffe

I have had no less than FIVE days this month where I've dropped 10+ buyins playing regs at HU. I'm still on course for a winning month but I just can't handle another horrendous day to take me towards a losing month so decided to purely bumhunt for the rest of the month but its so boring I thought I'd throw in some 6 max

Re: Official IPoker Thread

i played tiltmonkey for a good couple of hundred hands on 2/4, he's a complete maniac and a real bitch to play against. i think he ended up 600$ or so, before i quit. i too felt i was going to go on lifetilt if i continued playing him, so i sit out whenever he sits my tables (has done it once since we played.)

i've started playing some 6max as well, supermad, and i feel like there are so many spots where i can openly exploit, that i didn't notice before. however i've also spewed some and have been in spots where i've thought ''wat i have to fold here?''.

Re: Official IPoker Thread

Wow it's quiete sickening how little people know about gambling/odds/poker, whatever.

Just today there was a huge arguemnt in my class about if you could make a living from roullete (lol), if you had EXACTLY 50% chance of winning (ie. 20 red, 20 black).

This was his suggestion:

we bet $1, if we win, we try again, if we lose we double the amount and bet again.
So, If we lose, we bet $2. If we win then, we're +$1.
If we lose AGAIN, we bet $4. If we win then we're +1$ again.
If we lose AGAINNNN we bet $8, that way if we win we're still up $1.

So that was his plan. By playing double or nothing lots of times, the chance of losing all would be so extremely little. We'd end up +1$ pritty much every time. That way it was possible to make huge sums of money from roullete.

And the whole class agreed. "Wow, that's so smart." He even said his friend made a living using that exact strategy.

Needless to say, to listen to the idiots in my class thinking they have a clue was just soooooo tilting. And no matter how I tried to explain that it doesn't matter how many times we double or nothing, our expected value will still remain the same. Of course, the only thing they heard was "bla bla bla bla". But hey - "ROULETTE IS BEATABLE!!! ZOMFG".

Ghaaaa, non-poker playing friends can be tilting at times...

Re: Official IPoker Thread

Well yeah, he still said the chance would be extremely low to lose... But w/e I took 50% because it was easier to count with when I showed him mathematiclly that his strategy wouldn't work. As if he was convinced by that lol

Re: Official IPoker Thread

Is this a level?

Please explain mathmatically how it doesn't work, or even better update the wiki because you are obviously on to something:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marting...etting_system))

assuming infinite bankroll, the system indeed works.Your class was quite correctly laughing at you, as am I !

Well the classmates were obv talking about the martingale betting system being a foolproof roulette system and they were right about that.

Re: Official IPoker Thread

the expected value isn't always the main factor, take a look at the st petersburg paradox for example which is pretty similar to martingale.
