I sort of look at like this; each player is simply a black box that generates $X rake, regardless of their net profit. It seems common sense that when the pool of below average players decreases, the pool of above average players will too - I'm just technically interested in the nifty formula they used to come up with their winner/loser ratio business plan.

I guess it's good the network is actively engaged in attracting new (losing?) players. I can't imagine this conversation happening four years ago though.

The answer is that there's no such thing as 6 regs playing constantly. One or more of them will be losing money to the rake, and someone will have to buy in again or the game will cease to exist. All profit for a poker network ultimately comes from losing players; if losing players stop buying in, games on the site will stop.

Winning players are good in moderation for networks, because they play large volumes and so ensure there are games running around the clock. That's important for the network because it helps them extract money from the losing players at a faster rate, plus people who log on to the network and find themselves unable to play at their chosen stake tend to move networks.

However, games can run quite happily in the absence of winning players, while that is not true for losing players. Probably the ideal thing from iPoker's point of view would be losing players plus a bunch of rakeback grinders who help keep the games running.

I also think this is very important at sites that offer rb deals and has a lot of different skins. They need to stop the competition between their skins otherwise their skins will die out and iPoker will lose their traffic.

When running at 1PTBB/100 is closer to rakebackwhore and even the network wont have much issues with this..esp. not the specific site...
