i've thought about this before and decided to ship my father a copy of my keypass db w/ instructions that he's not to open unless something happens to me. i mean eventually your estate gets your loot in theory, but whoever is dealing w/ that for you needs to know every site you play on and prove your death and prove that they are executor of your estate to support at each individual place; seems easier just to have someone you trust cash you out if something happens.

interesting topic. I have wondered about how all that stuff would work in case of death.

side question: do you guys let your families in on how much you've made from poker? I have never told anyone.

my extended family and friends think im rollin in dough bc of donkament scores and pocketfives (lists cashes not profit), but my parents have a better picture of my actual financial scenario because they hear about when I'm losing.

My family try to ask all the time, and Ive I always been hesitant to give exact numbers. Usually I say that I have no financial problems, and enough saved for expenses for 1 year+ if poker stops working for me.

I still live fairly modestly, and havent really made any large flashy purchases, so acctually got a "well you can't be doing that well or you'd have moved in somewhere nicer/would have purchased xxxxx (lol), over the holidays. Ive asked that they dont bring it up any more following this.

A couple of my close friends have a slightly better idea, simply from being around me way more but still no exact numbers.

Re: ***Official February 2012 MSNL **** Thread***

Yeah my parents have a ballpark idea but no exact figures. About a year ago they were giving me some **** for playing poker so I showed them a bank statement so they would STFU, and they did.

BTW With Pokerstars at least, I know some people who died had their funds transfered to their family. You obv need a death certificate etc...

The thing is, even if your parents have your password, they still need to withdraw the funds to the bank and that might raise some questions if a dead person has "authorised" a withdrawal to their bank account.

Most important thing is to just let your family know that you have significant money in your Poker accounts.

This is actually not that uncommon, we were advised in secondary school to make wills, the hassle of dealing with the State when there's no will is generally a huge PITA, irrespective of your net worth.
