scumbag august MSNL thread, show me TED talk detailing the negative effects of pornography and then inundate me with pictures of absolute dimes that make me want to tickle the tuna
Re: ***OFFICIAL August MSNL Countdown-till-we-get-our-FTP-moniez THREAD***
awesome will, I check up on your blog from time to time. Live it up, there is no better eye opening/perspective giving/maturation process than traveling IMHO
Really good speech. A lot of info I already knew and some new stuff that is new to me. I knew how bad alcohol was for you but didn't realize sugar was essentially as bad for your body overall.
Re: ***OFFICIAL August MSNL Countdown-till-we-get-our-FTP-moniez THREAD***
Re: sugar, I wouldn't worry too much. There's a bit of good info in that talk (e.g. de-emphasis on dietary fat as a problem, importance of fiber, role of politics/economics in food production) but the guy mostly just cherry-picks evidence to support an exaggerated claim. Can't really blame him as he's a pediatrician who probably sees hundreds of obese kids who drink 3+ sodas a day, which is obviously unhealthy.
Check that 2nd link to the blog with counter arguments and ensuing discussion... those are much more compelling imo. Lustig (guy from the video) actually joins into the discussion and gets pretty convincingly rebutted.
Cliffs: sugar in moderation is fine for your body. Context -- i.e. rest of your diet, physical activity, lean body mass -- matters.
