i also dislike the changes. i prefer having more time and not use it then the opposite!

also not a big fan of the speed tables and the new concept makes all tables speed tables when not deep.

Yeah this actually.

Especially for spots where it's been open-folded to you or if you're UTG you just really don't need that much time preflop.

Making all the table speed tables is definitely a bad idea, increasing the time allotted for post flop certainly wouldn't be a bad thing either.

I really think this will improve the playing experience of recreational players a lot.

Ideally it would be preflop only, but I would much rather see all decisions have to be quick, then have the current situation to continue to drive rec players away from the games.

Re: ***The OFFICIAL 2012 Stars Regulars Thread***

The problem comes back to people being allowed to play too many tables simultaneously, which is the reason some ppl act unreasonably slow over easy decisions. But stars wont do anything about that bc more tables means more rake generated.

Re: ***The OFFICIAL 2012 Stars Regulars Thread***

Some system when you measure average decision time and punish people who take too long regularly but still allowing longer pauses in difficult spots would be better.
The problem is not someone tanking for 40 seconds in 250bb pot on the river, the problem are guys playing 20+tables and taking 5-7seconds to fold 72off utg.

Any system which allows the same amount of time for every decision, no matter what the time is doesn't solve this problem.

C'mon, they started doing something at least (reducing amount of tables for very slow players) so maybe their attitude is not that bad. We can't know for sure, give them benefit of doubt. Also never attribute to malice...

But if players are taking forever to play their hands then more hands aren't being played after all, so I'd say it's in Stars interest too.

Re: ***The OFFICIAL 2012 Stars Regulars Thread***

the only thing i like about this change is removing the labels and making all the tables the same, but 18s for every table is ridiculus. 25s as suggested earlier would be a good balance between normal and fast tables

They kinda already have a system likes this in place; players will get the max # of tables reduced if they are slowing down the games and their avg response time increases significantly above the norm (works the other way, and max tables can increase too if you are faster than norm). So the facility is there to do this, so the suggestion would be to check super-slow people who aren't maxing tables, but still way above average on resp. time.

Re: ***The OFFICIAL 2012 Stars Regulars Thread***

Making every table 18s is obv stupid. 25 should be the minimum.

Part of the reason people are slow is because one day they happen to get on 20 normal and 4 fast speed tables and think they can 24table without slowing the games down but another day his tables are going to be with a 10normal/14fast split and they end up completely overwhelmed. Once every table is the same speed everyone can just see how many tables they can handle.

I'd also like to point out that pretty much everyone who is willing to start tables with other regs are doing so at normal speed tables currently because masstabling and starting fast speed tables shorthanded just isnt attainable. You'll just make them quit and further bumhunting making every table fast speed.

Also I thought you were supposed to be cutting max tables for regs that are too slow due to multitabling (uh oh Desultory!), just do this instead of reducing everyone's timebank...
