Absolutely ridiculous recent update at betsafe, standard OG.

During the recent merging of wallet's on betsafe, and the subsequent currency conversion, I lost over 1000 gbp. I'm sure future $ also due to the problem outlined below, my account is in GBP, and with my play occurring on the USD tables...

I originally posted it in the small stakes forum, because that is where I play, but I was told that thread is dead and everybody from Ongame posts in here.

I first encountered the issue after the big website update Betsafe implemented a few days ago, I'm not sure if it affects other skins or not.

They removed multiple wallets for Poker, Casino, Main wallet etc. and converted them into one wallet, this is from the email they sent informing customers of the matter:

"We will soon be back up again, and here is some good news. You will no longer have to transfer money from your main account into a separate Poker USD wallet. Simply use your one wallet to play any real money game of your choice."

It sounded good to me, I thought I would now avoid any conversion charges when cashing out, however yesterday I noticed $6 had disappeared from my account, I played a session anyway and took note of what my cashier was at. I logged back in and another $3 was missing, I contacted support and they said they would look into the issue, I continued to play and today another $5 was missing from my account.

I got a reply from support today informing me that these charges incurred due to currency conversion, that was as in depth as the email went, I have sent an email back asking for my information but to me it seems like your money while playing poker is constantly being converted back and forth between your default currency and USD for poker.

Now if you have a USD default currency this probably won't affect you but if you have Euro's or Ł like me then you are likely being affected, and the effect is quite significant, I lost nearly $15 in about 24 hours.

So yeah just a heads up for people, I didn't want anyone who doesn't take notice of their cashier getting screwed out of hundreds in the next couple of months.

U should never ever have your account in a diff currency other then usd. U will get raped.
Cash out usd, then figure out the best rate to convert at.

not true at all, you can convert fee free at a lot of sites, and betsafe is (used to be?) one of them

Thank you for your message.

Please be advised I can confirm that some purchase options in your poker points shop have now been removed in preparation for our migration from the Ongame network provider to iPoker later this year. I apologise for any disappointment caused but can confirm that once the switch over to the new network provider has been completed, we will be offering a much more reliable platform and in addition a larger range of purchasable options.

Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or another member of the Customer Services team.

Kind regards,

Mark

Hey guys,

how does the essence method affect your rakeback? Is the rake tracked in HEM equal to your real rake sum?

wtf happened, atm (6pm euro time) there are altogether 8-9 full 6 max tables at nl 400 and 600

Is anyone playing on an ongame site with rakeback that holds both wallets in USD? I'm at goalwin right now, withdrawing right now after converting with their currency rates ends up costing about 10% on each withdraw. Insanity

Pm me any ongame offers with sites based on USD

I don't know of any with both in USD but also curious.

Otherwise, someone in this thread suggested using some sort of currency broker to get a better rate. Maybe look into that.
