Idk, personally I've never had him grim me, and I've tried to sit him quite a few times, so I can't really speak to the buttoning stuff. As to everything else, the reality is that most people (and nearly 100% of winning players) game select in some way. The difference is simply where you draw the line between playable and unplayable. Don't get me wrong, I think ultra hardcore bumhunting is terrible for the games, and probably -EV in the long run. I would love it if everyone were willing to sit with regs and start tables, but that's not reality. I may not like it but I understand the reasoning, and to a point it makes sense.
Edit: And to the sitting out, that's far better than just watching the table and snap left sitting any fish that joins. In my experience even people sitting out slightly helps the chance a table fills.

Re: ***The Official 2012 Merge Regulars Thread***
I think that the sitting out with pos on the open seats is far worse than the snap sitting to the left of fish because it guarantees that one of the regs who is starting the game isn't going to get position on a random who sits. If people start doing that when I am starting games then I just stop starting them. Some level of respect needs to be shown to the players who are starting the games.

I did not realize/hadn't seen this. I withdraw what I said on the matter earlier. Stuff like this is awful for the games, and it won't stop naturally. The only possible solution is some kind of systemic change. Some of the recent "Poker Stars Improvement" threads have had some interesting material in this regard.

I really agree with the bolded.
Table starters generate expectation for all of us. Even if someone doesn't want to actively contribute by playing with regs, you can contribute passively by being slightly less predatory, or at least more subtle about it.
Personally I don't mind people sitting out on my empties as long as they buy in full and mix up their seating position, but I can definitely see how doing so as you describe above would get old very fast.

Re: ***The Official 2012 Merge Regulars Thread***
just sit opposite when starting, always, fairest way. EV tilts the **** out of me with his lobby hawking and snap seating. Its ridiculous.
Also, tried to withdraw and got this message "You cannot withdraw with an active casino bonus.
Your bonus balance is $0 with a remaining playthrough of $53,422. The bonus will clear once your playthrough or bonus balance reaches $0"
emailed support, but giving their casino 50k of action seem optimistic by lockpoker...

Re: ***The Official 2012 Merge Regulars Thread***
fairydust is just a hu player looking for fish on the 6m tables
ty alb, cog, line, drevil, redb, and stevie for starting tables (hope I didn't miss anyone)
regs who don't start tables and snapjesus seat: riyatik, merkava, EVConsultant, r3dk1ng
at least they buy in full I guess
I'll be out in Vegas this year for WSOP, down to go out for drinks and whatnot

I know aumnicient and gaydar also start tables on the reg, so thank you to everyone on the list, and also to anyone forgotten.
Honorable mention to people who've occasionally started tables: highgrindtime, a5sassin, bigguylegend, williammacintosh, sirotras, catmaaan, pls3betme, lJ7113, megabet, persnickety, geebus, pokerwiz, glitteringprizes, arggggg
It's interesting that basically all the non-bumhunting action I've seen on this network comes from ~20 names. Pretty much the life-blood of mid-high in a short list. Keep it up everybody.

Sorry I didn't include you, thank you for contributing to the games. The list is just from my experience the last couple of months starting tables, so there's likely quite a few I missed.
