Yo,
So I can't play poker anymore but hopefully I still can still challenge you guys in other ways. This actually happened to me last Friday and I found it kind of interesting.
I play basketball every week with some friends, it costs $90 per person. My friend owed $90 so he gave it to me to pass on to the guy I work with.
The next day I go to pay him and all I have is 100s in my wallet (obv

). I give him 100 and he looks for a 10 or anything to make change... he doesn't have it, he only has about $200 in 20s. He asks the 5 other people on his trading desk if they can break a $20. Everyone looks and no one has change for a $20 (duh, it's a trading desk). This was true, no one actually did. The guy who collects goes "Let's just figure this out later"... I said "wait... no we can do this". After about 15 seconds my wallet had 90 less dollars in it, and my friend had 90 more dollars in it, nothing other than money was exchanged and no one owed anyone else money due to the transaction. No one purchased anything to break a bill and no one outside of the trading desk mentioned previously was involved.
How did we do it?
Recap:
- I only have 100s
- My friend only has 20s
- No one on the desk could break a 20, only people on the desk were involved
- no objects or anything like that were traded.
- no bills were broken via purchasing or debt agreements, etc.
- I end up with 90 less dollars in wallet and he has 90 more dollars in wallet, no one owes anyone money.
- No one lost money doing this outside of $90 from me, what I owed him. There was no gambling among members, etc.
Think about your answer before you other people's posts.
